The Westmoreland County Food Bank hosts an annual Fall Food Share Food Drive at select Giant Eagle Stores. Over the past couple of years, the youth of our church have volunteered to hand out shopping lists to customers at the entrance of stores. Once shoppers are finished, they drop off their donated items to our kids on the way out. The kids do a fabulous job engaging the customers and incredibly well with the number of donations gathered! These donations are critical this time of year as they assist the food bank with providing food to pantries, meal programs, soup kitchens, emergency shelters and childcare programs. Council Weekly Prayer Request The Church Council is asking you to pray that the Lord will stir our hearts and bless us as we reflect upon ways that we share gifts of time, talents and financial resources during this year s Stewardship Campaign. Pastor Wayne s Weekly Prayer Request Pastor Wayne asks you to pray for those who received Holy Communion, for the first time, this weekend; and for the four young people who are preparing to receive the gift of Holy Baptism on All Saints Sunday (Nov 4 th ). Please remember those who are grieving: Jeffrey Cable, Laurel Gillespie, Eric Waxbom, Betty Reagan, Ally Hauger, George Truby, Dorothy Beacom, Lori Ruggiero, Pastor Wayne Gillespie, Linda Hess, Amy Lederer, Jennifer Vanhorn, Marlene Gerdes, Jack Savage, Grace Lucas, Sandra and Alex Thompson, and Marlene Earl. (This is a list of our congregation s mission-partners who have recently experienced the loss of one of their close family members. The process of grieving can take a very long time, and those who are moving through a painful time of transition appreciate receiving words of hope and encouragement from their friends, and are comforted by the fact that they are remembered by you.)
