Basics of the Faith (49 days) Perfect for the new believer, this series covers topics such as The Importance of the Bible, How to Know If You are Saved, Talking to God in Prayer, Getting Involved in the Local Church, Living to Please God, Spiritual Terms Everyone Should Know, and Knowing about the Bible. Each encouraging message provides multiple Bible references for the new believer to feast upon. Importance of the Bible Having made the decision to trust in Christ as your Savior, the question now is how to grow spiritually. There are various steps you should take, but none is more important than reading the Bible, which is God s written Word. You will never know more about the Lord Jesus Christ than what you know about the Bible. This is why Peter wrote in 1 Peter 2:2: Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment. Just as you made the decision to trust Christ as Savior, your spiritual growth will depend on the decisions you make. For instance, it is a decision to make daily Bible reading a habit. Where should you begin reading? All the Bible is good, of course, but a good place to begin your reading is with the Gospel of Mark. This is the shortest of the four Gospels and focuses on what Jesus did during His adult ministry. In Mark, we learn that John the Baptist came ahead of Jesus announcing that the One promised from God was coming. Mark 1:6-11 say: His clothes were woven from coarse camel hair, and he wore a leather belt around his waist. For food he ate locusts and wild honey. John announced: Someone is coming soon who is greater than I am so much greater that I m not even worthy to stoop down like a slave and untie the straps of his sandals. I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit! One day Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and John baptized him in the Jordan River. As Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Holy Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy. So begin with chapter 1 in Mark and read a little each day to learn about what your Savior and Lord did when He was on earth. 3

Business Ethics (34 days) In business, as in life, we have to make tough choices. When the pressure is on, are you able to make the right choices? Do you struggle with the idea of compromising your standards to achieve the goals? Let s find out what the Bible says about ethics. Office Gossip Don t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God s law. James 4:11 Do you have a critical spirit? How can you be a force in your office to change a critical atmosphere into one that is affirming? Why this message? Some work places are a hotbed for gossip and spreading ill will. Rise above it without condescending to others. It will make you feel clean inside and perhaps be a catalyst for change. Business Icons (37 days) Many famous men and women from business, science and politics have been quoted with some profound yet simple insights. Let s see what they have to say and compare them to what Scripture says. How s your reputation? Warren Buffett said, It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you ll do things differently. Scripture: Proverbs 22:1 (NIV) says, A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. A good reputation, or name, is obviously desired both in business and our personal lives. But how do we get a good name? Why This Message? Scripture says that we can t put a price on a good name. It s not something we can buy, but rather it s something we earn. Proverbs 3:3-4 (NIV) says, Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. 4

Business Leadership (50 days) There are many important leadership principles in the workplace, in your personal life, and in your faith. This track defines leadership principles that are important to follow and delivers corresponding Scripture verses that are important to live by. Transparency If leaders work with a hidden agenda, a predetermined conclusion, or decisions orchestrated behind closed doors, then trust is a fleeting ideal. In making decisions, leaders become deceptive when they manufacturer the appearance that everyone has an equal voice. www.theldg.org Ephesians 4:25 says, Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Are you listening? Are you being honest in your comments and taking into consideration all solutions? Who really is your neighbor? Why? Hiding the truth is never good in the long run. Deception breeds distrust. Distrust breeds failure to lead in your business AND in your home. Discipleship 101 (42 days) Discover the what, why, how, who, where, and when of discipleship in this six-week course with Dr. Mansfield, well known within the Church of the Nazarene for discipleship training with groups of all ages. 94/7 Rule What is the danger when there is no discipleship? Research tells us that 94% of those who make a profession of faith are back to their old lives within a year. 94%! With effective discipleship we have seen this figure drop to as low as 10%. Unfortunately the problem is worse than losing 94% of those we evangelize. In Luke 11:24-26, Jesus indicates that if the old habits aren t replaced by Christian attitudes, habits and actions (the result of discipleship) that they will actually be seven times worse off than before. We can see that the mature of the church have the responsibility to disciple this high risk group. We will impact them for their eternity. By discipling we can better prevent them from facing the consequences of walking in disobedience. May God forgive us for failing to disciple as we should. What new believer that you know needs someone to disciple them? 5

Life Skill #11: Understanding How to Forgive Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. Colossians 3:13 (NKJ) If you don t forgive someone who hurts you, YOU end up in the Prison of Unforgiveness. The prison has 4 bars which will torment you - until you forgive. Forgiveness is choosing to accept that the blood of Jesus as the full payment for what your offender did. Notice: God has placed the keys to freedom in your hand. Key 1 is to forgive the offense. Key 2 is to forgive the hurt feelings you experienced. Key 3 is to forgive the ramifications (the negative effects caused by your offender s words or actions). Key 4 is to confess and repent of your sinful reactions to the offense. When you use these keys, you are set free! Is there someone who has offended, rejected, judged or hurt you that you have not forgiven? If you have forgiven the offense, did you forgive the emotional pain and all of the ramifications? Did you repent of your sinful reactions? 6

Moments by Warren Wiersbe (31 days) Are you looking for strong exegetical preaching three minutes at a time? Well, then this track is for you. Warren Wiersbe will take you through several passages, a couple verses at a time, and allow you to see just how applicable God s Word truly is. You won t want to miss out. Audio Track Proverbs (60 days) We re told in James that if we want wisdom, we re to ask God for it. So where in the Bible do we look for wisdom? The short answer is obvious: Everywhere! The Bible is chock full of it. But there s a place most of us go when we re looking for that short burst of wisdom: Proverbs. Listen to Your Parents My child, listen when your father corrects you. Don t neglect your mother s instruction. What you learn from them will crown you with grace and be a chain of honor around your neck. Proverbs 1:8-9 Why is God concerned with how we treat our parents? How difficult is it for you to respect and honor both of your parents? How could you do better? 7

Reclaiming Sexual Wholeness by Dr. Todd Bowman of the SATP Institute (37 days) This track is designed to help foster a sense of hope and healing for those who are trying to overcome problematic sexual behavior. By examining the truth of human sexuality depicted in the Biblical narrative, and filtering these truths through the lens of Dr. Todd Bowman s clinical expertise, this track will guide the user through a process of self-examination, critical reflection, and enhanced interpersonal connection. The goal is to help the user live faithfully in surrendering the struggle at the cross. Reclaiming Sexual Wholeness We are created for community, but we tend to live in isolation, where the roots of sexual struggle begin to take hold. If you try to walk this journey of reclaiming sexual wholeness alone, you will inevitably fail. Who can you trust to be with you every step of the way? Make that call. 8
