The Baptist Recorder Official Newsletter of Truett Baptist Association of Churches, Inc. Telephone 828.837.5401 Email tbanc@frontier.com Rev. Mitchell Shields, Director of Missions Mobile #828.360.5049 Email-tbadom@frontier.com Mitchell s Musings: Lord you provide examples and instructions from most of life s experiences. It seems, as individuals and a nation, we have a difficult time remembering our history. Thank you for your written word that helps us remember what we were before we heard you calling to us, what we are since repenting of our sins and accepting you as our Lord and Savoir; what you want us to be and how far we have to go to get there. Father, I ask your Spirit to fill our hearts with such a deep desire to read, hear and internalize your Word that this desire will overshadow every other insignificant priority we may have. UPDATES: LAND IS PAID FOR, PRAISE THE LORD Annual meeting will be Saturday October 19 starting at 5:00pm. This year we are celebrating a note burning. The annual meeting will be a picnic on the Ministry Village property. Truett Association will provide hot dogs, drinks, paper products. We ask that you bring the side dishes; beans, Cole slaw, favorite salads, disserts and disserts. Program details will be completed prior to that day and sent to you by email. Besides THE NOTE BURNING there will be one order of business. We will vote on changing from quarterly meetings to semiannual meetings, one in April and one in October. Area Crusade: On May 1, 2014, National Day of Prayer we are hosting The Main Event with Dr Johnny Hunt, pastor of First Baptist Church Woodstock GA and the gospel singing group The Nelons. If you are not acquainted with Dr Hunt check him out at: http://www.johnnyhunt.com/new/ To prepare for the Main Event, beginning in August would you make the first (1 st ) Thursday of each month a special day of prayer for the Main Event. Ask God to lead you to the person He wants you to invite to the Main Event. Then follow through on what God leads you to do in developing a relationship the person and invite that special person. The Main Event will be at the Bear Ridge Mall in Andrews. My Hope America: This November the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) is sponsoring a nation wide outreach/ renewal event. BGEA is purchasing air time on all TV networks to share a message of hope from Dr Billy Graham. There are several association churches participating in this event by enlisting Matthew Families to host gatherings for the purpose of sharing their testimony. This may be the biggest evangelistic outreach in the history of this nation. Would you like to have a part in bringing America Back to God? Contact Mitchell Shields for more information. Please pray for My Hope America, with Billy Graham. ATTENTION CHURCH CLERKS The 2013 Annual Congregation Profiles were recently mailed to you. If you would please complete the profile for your church as soon as possible and mail back to us or you can enter the information online, we will be appreciative. It is our hope that we can get a completed profile from every church in Truett Association this year.
