People need community, and God has called the church to create environments where authentic community can take place (Acts 2:42). That s why Connect Groups are so vital to the health and growth of our church body. Home-based Connect Groups give people the opportunity to have fellowship in a more personal atmosphere resulting in deeper, Christ-centered relationships. Most of the Berean Connect Groups take place twice a month on Sunday nights in people s homes, but a few occur at other times. If you have any questions about hosting a Connect Group in your home, or joining an existing home-based Connect Group, please call Pastor Steve Storkel or Sarah DeYarmon at 419-756-3300. SANTISUK ENGLISH SCHOOL TRIP 2019 We are exploring the possibility of taking another team to teach English in either January or February 2019. Please join Pastor Bill for an information meeting TODAY, between services at 10:30 a.m. in the Library (Room 215). If you are interested but cannot attend, contact Pastor Bill Heaton at 419-756-3300 or bheaton@bereanfamily.com. QUESTIONS FOR CONNECT GROUPS 1) When was the last time you were deceived by something that sounded really great? 2) How did you feel after being fooled? 3) Have you ever talked with anyone who has combined different philosophies or worldviews in a unique way that doesn t seem to fit together completely, especially about Jesus, God, or the church? What was the belief or idea they shared? 4) Who is Jesus to them? A Savior, a good teacher, a legend, something else? How about you? Who is Jesus to you? 5) Take some time to pray that you would pursue Jesus Christ completely and not be taken captive by other ideas. Also, pray for someone that you know that needs to be released from captivity of their own opinion or a misunderstanding about Who Christ is and what He has done. Please join us in praying for all those in the path of Hurricane Florence. Our Church wants to again partner with Samaritan s Purse as they help to meet the needs of those devastated by Hurricane Florence. Samaritan s Purse Disaster Relief equipment is packed and ready. Their staff have been in contact with our partners in the projected storm impact areas. We now want to stand ready with our volunteer team to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Once the damage assessments are completed and deployment locations are identified, we will select our week and put together our team. As of right now it looks like we will be taking a team down to the North Carolina area to partner with Samaritans Purse in helping those effected by the recent hurricane. Tentatively, we will be leaving on Sunday, September 30th and returning October 6th. We will have a meeting on Thursday, September 20th at 6:00 p.m. with anyone who might be interested in going If you are interested, please call the church at 419-756-3300 to receive more information. Gifts can be made to Berean Baptist Church. Put Hurricane Florence Relief in the memo. Project Description: Volunteers will be assisting homeowners affected by the hurricane. Volunteers will assist with mud-outs, debris cleanup, roof tarping, and chainsaw work.
