The Bishop Suffragan s Visitation on Palm Sunday We began outdoors with the Blessing of Palms and Procession singing All Glory Laud and Honor. Inside, The Passion Narrative was read in parts, Bishop Chandler Holder Jones preached and then administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to our four candidates. Many gifts to the church, which we have made or given, wwere blessed including the Altar give by Serene Ruth Lai. The Eucharist was sung and the choir sang beautifully their motet O Rest in the Lord by Mendelssohn from Elijah. Supper followed with the blessing of three pieces of art in the parish hall and the Dedication of the Palladian Window in memory of Dagmar Mason. The congregation of Saint Matthias Church in Dothan joined us, and it was a special treat to have Fr. Geordan Geddings from St. Bede s Anglican Church in Birmingham as well. Jessica Hughes Hill (left) and Linda Wilkins Klein Stand smiling beside the picture that they gave. Ours is a happy congregation with stability and orthodoxy. All three of those qualities are underrated. We simply don t fight about or vote on the latest conflicts and postures of the secular world. We do pray for people and the planet. We have established, new for our culture, but very ancient patterns in faith and practice. We know that we are a tiny minority in North America, but we are also completely cognizant that our conviction is infallible: We believe in him who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. If one believes in some parts of the Gospel and rejects others, then they are not believing the Gospel but themselves. Eduardo Bonnin, co-founder of Cursillo, once said, Christ and I are an overwhelming majority! I believe that s the way we think at St. James. We may be traditional, small, old-fashioned, and anglophiles too, but as one priest told us, We are proudly Anglican. We are happy and proud to be so too. Fr Klein
