Every day, our kids are bombarded with the message that the Bible isn t the true Word of God, that it can t be trusted to tell us the truth about the past or, more importantly, about how we can receive the gift of eternal life. At Operation Arctic, your kids will warm up to the Word as they explore the coolest Book on the planet and discover how we can know for sure that the Bible is God s written word to us! Grab your parka and snow boots! For VBS 2017, we re headed deep into the stunning Arctic Circle that is filled with treasure and thrilling to explore! And be sure to pack your Bible we ll be learning all about that breathtakingly beautiful Book that is filled with treasure and thrilling to explore! As we venture into the cold tundra, we ll discover that the BIBLE: Is the Book of Books, unique in every way! Has had an Incredible Impact upon our world! Is the Bedrock Base of our lives! Is a Letter of Love in which God tells us how we can become His children! Is Exciting to Explore as we learn it, love it, and live it! Let s plunge on in to this cold world and God s wonderful Word! Operation Arctic promises to be a flurry of fun and excitement! Let s go!
Operation Arctic Our explorers will begin warming up to the Word from the very first minute they arrive at Operation Arctic. The mission begins at Snowfall Station with the Opening Assembly, a highenergy opening with entertaining welcomes, fun songs, the greatly anticipated daily drama, and prayer. Then we rotate through five fun sites: Treasure Point Bible Time, where explorers learn important Bible truths in fun and creative ways; Summit Camp, where explorers dig deep into the truths discovered during Treasure Point Bible Time through age-appropriate discussion and/or activities Glacier Gap Games, where explorers discover that preparation is snow easy and games are filled with chills and thrills; Klondike Corner Snacks, where explorers won t want to pass up the cool treats that are waiting to melt in their mouths; Discovery Pass, the science, craft, music, mission, and memory verse spot! After finishing the day's rotations, everyone heads back to Snowfall Station for the Closing Assembly that includes more singing,, contest results, and a mission moment where children will have the opportunity to provide an offering to support the orphanage Casa Hogar Sinai in Imuris, Mexico. Shirts are available at the church office Monday- Friday 9am to 5pm or during Sunday morning service at the children s welcome area. Limited quantities available, so get yours now! Top of the World Tunes Music CDs for Sale Music CDs featuring songs from this year s VBS are also for sale. These are $3 each and are available at the church office or on Sunday mornings. CD s will also be available for purchase throughout the week. Contests We will be having exciting daily contests this week for all ages. Your child can earn individual and team points each day by participating in the following: Games 1,000 points Being here 2,000 points Bringing a visitor 2,000 points Learning the daily memory verse 1,000 points Participating in the daily special contests 2,000 points Learning the theme verse Sturdy shoes are recommended every day so your children can freely run and play without twisting an ankle. Craft Alert Our crafts are awesome, fun, and potentially messy! Please make sure your children wear play clothes that can get dirty. Arrival/Dismissal Procedures Arrival: If you have already completed registration, please check in every day at the preregistration table where your child will be signed in, given their name tag and security wristband and given their group assignment. Once both you and your child have been given a
wristband, please escort your child to their proper group according to the signs displayed. Be sure to make contact with the group leader so that they can mark your child s attendance on their clipboard. Dismissal: Be sure to have your wristband checked and removed by a Team Guide before leaving; your child will need to be signed out on the team roster. Your child will also be sent home with daily activities and crafts!
