About WAVES 2016 The Conference WAVES 2016 aims to bring together individuals and organizations having academic interest in diverse areas of Indic/Vedic Studies. This includes independent scholars, academics, writers, journalists, media persons, artists and others interested in Indic/Vedic Studies. World Association for Vedic Studies & its India branch Wider Association for Vedic Studies, known by their acronym WAVES are multidisciplinary academic societies that welcome people engaged or interested in studying any field of Vedic/Indic studies. Till date World Association for Vedic Studies had eleven successful biennial conferences in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Hoboken, Dartmouth, Washington DC, Houston, Orlando, Trinidad, Piscataway, Dartmouth, and Fairfield. These international conferences included participants from Australia, Austria, Bali (Indonesia), Belarus, Belgium, Canada, Caribbean, China, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Nepal, Netherlands, Surinam, UK, USA, USSR etc. Nineteen previous annual conferences of Wider Association for Vedic Studies held at New Delhi, Srisailam, Kathmandu, Pondicherry, Bangalore, Jaipur, Vrindavan, Hyderabad, Haridwar, Lucknow, and Varanasi. These India conferences included participants from all over the country such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Delhi, Uttrakhand, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh etc. This year s conference venue is Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi, India. WAVES 2016 is scheduled for four days. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is an educational trust that offers education through primary schools to colleges, with courses in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing & Sales Management, Industrial Relations & Personnel Management, Astrology and foreign languages recognized by Government of India, Ministry of Education. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is located at a prime location in Delhi near India Gate, well connected with local transportation facilities including nearby seven Metro stations of Mandi House, Janpath, Barakhambha, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat.
