Prayer that Releases Power Part 1 I. Reading of a prophetic word that was spoken by Brother Copeland: II. III. The manifestation of the blessing, saith the Lord, is at an all-time high. You are approaching a blessing manifestation that the human race has never seen before. The blessing will surround you. The blessing will encase you. All debt will have to get up and leave you the same way leprosy left the lepers of old. Debt is financial sickness. It is financial leprosy. It is a burden and it is part of the curse. If you will begin to confess that this blessing manifestation is coming, you will be shocked and thrilled at how quickly you will have the glory arise and drive debt right out of your life. I will bless you beyond your income. I will bless you beyond your salaries. I will bless you beyond anything you have ever known before. I will bring financial blessing on you that you don t have any idea where it came from. It has come to an explosive place. It s ready. I m ready. Are you ready? saith the Lord. Prayer is totally, completely connected to the blessing. A. We must understand the principles that govern the kingdom of God. B. Only then will the recession be unable to affect you. C. You can actually experience abundant blessing in the middle of a recession. Ephesians 6:10 (NKJ) In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. 11 Put on God s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Skip to Verse 17: And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God. 18 Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God s consecrated people). A. In conclusion Paul is about to summarize the instructions. (Vs 10) 2
B. At all times = Always; constant. Prayer should never cease. (Vs 18) C. With all manner of prayer there are different kinds of prayer. 1. The church has made the mistake of lumping them all together. 2. Only the right kind of prayer will bring the desired manifestation. D. It is essential to understand the rules that govern each type of prayer. E. The nine different types of prayer are as follows: 1. Prayer of Faith the one we are going to study tonight. 2. Prayer of Agreement two or more touching in agreement. a. One can put a thousand to flight. b. Two can put TEN thousand to flight! 3. Prayer of Supplication prayer in behalf of the saints. 4. Prayer of Intercession prayer in behalf of sinners (unsaved). 5. Prayer of Worship the highest and most intimate form of prayer. a. Worship = proscineo (Greek). b. Means to bow down and kiss. 6. Prayer of Commitment 7. United Corporate Prayer coming together into one accord. a. This form of prayer causes a much faster manifestation. b. Acts 1:14 is an example of corporate prayer. 8. Praying in the Spirit tomorrow night s teaching. 9. Prayer of Consecration F. Never ask God for something that has already been granted. 1. If He has promised it in His Word, it s already yours. 2. Redundant prayers will not get answered. 3. His will is in His Word. 4. Never say, If it be thy will, heal me. IV. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. A. God has a plan for us. 3
B. His plan is to prosper us; we don t have to ask if it is His will to do so. V. There are two elements that govern ALL prayer: Faith and thanksgiving. A. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 Be happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always); 17 Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly]; 18 Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. 1. If you are not happy, your prayers are not going to get answered. 2. You cannot go to the Lord grumbling about your circumstances. 3. We are supposed to be happy always and to pray always. (Vs 16-17) 4. You cannot separate prayer from being happy. 5. God lives in a gated community; the gate code is thanksgiving. (Vs 18) 6. Your response will always be based on what you focus on. 7. When you focus on your problem, you will always be miserable. 8. When you focus on what God has already done for you, you will have the right attitude for prayer. 9. Thanksgiving is a critical part to both enter and exit the throne room. 10. If you don t believe God will answer your prayer, don t bother praying! 11. Without thanksgiving, your prayer is wishy-washy! 12. You are insinuating that God might answer your request or He might not. B. Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice! Vs 6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. 1. A prerequisite to prayer is to be worry-free. 2. Worry blocks your prayer from being answered. 3. If you are worried, stay out of the throne room. 4. Don t worry, be happy! 5. The Australian response to a greeting is No worries! 4
6. Never close a prayer without thanksgiving. VI. VII. Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive. A. One of the definitions of prayer is jurisdiction. B. Jurisdiction applies to the Prayer of Faith. We must understand what the will of the Lord is before we pray. A. Ephesians 5:17 Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is. 1. Believers are supposed to understand God s will. 2. The will of God is always in the Word of God. 3. If you do not know the Word, you could be praying amiss. B. 1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. 15 And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him. 1. In order for prayer to be answered, it has to be heard! 2. It can only be heard if it lines up with His will. 3. As long as He hears it, you got it! 4. Vs 15: We have; not we will have. It is past tense. 5. The moment you prayed is the moment you received. 6. Thanksgiving is in order when you have just received something! 7. Do not ask over and over again. 8. You have to believe it before you actually physically see it. C. Romans 8:32 He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things? 1. God wants to give us all things. 2. Don t get ticked if others are getting blessed and you are not. 3. The problem lies with you, not God or His Word. 5
4. The Word will work for whoever works the Word. 6
