Participation in a Parent Preparation Program is mandatory before the baptism of the child. Our preparation Program is held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. Attendance at Sunday Mass on the day of the Baptism is Mandatory. Please call the Parish office to schedule a baptism. WEDDINGS All weddings are scheduled by the Pastor of the Parish. Office staff cannot schedule a wedding and a wedding is not considered to be officially scheduled until the couple receives written confirmation from the Pastor of the Parish. Couples desiring to be married need to speak directly with the Pastor BEFORE reserving a hall. Only the Bride or Groom may request a date for their wedding. Diocesan policy requires that a 6 month (minimum) preparation process be completed prior to the celebration of all weddings. Weddings are not scheduled on Sundays. ANOINTING OF THE SICK Parishioners who are seriously or critically ill, or have surgery scheduled should receive the Sacrament of Anointing and Healing. Please call the parish office to request this sacrament. Regular visits are also made by our Pastoral Staff and Ministers of Care to bring Holy Communion to hospitalized or homebound parishioners. Anyone desiring such a visit should call the Parish Office. R.C.I.A. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is an ongoing formation process for adults who are interested in becoming a Catholic and adult Catholics who would like to receive the sacraments of Confirmation and/or First Eucharist. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ: The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) has come to the aid of communities nationwide for over 40 years in an effort to eradicate poverty. During World Youth Day, July 25, 2013, Pope Francis told us to never tire of working for a more just world, marked by greater solidarity. CCHD puts these words into action by funding housing, education, and the development of job opportunities. Projects supported by CCHD move beyond providing for basic needs. They work to build healthy, sustainable futures for communities. Ten years ago, Boston s Haley House began offering bakery training at the request of a few regular guests at the soup kitchen. Experiencing a tremendous demand, Haley House created a six-month course that includes customer relations and basic business principles. Haley House currently has 70 trainees who have completed the program and are now employed in the Boston area. Haley House also runs cooking classes for at-risk teens and a Transitional Employment Program that provides holistic, individual support to men and women re-entering the community after incarceration. Haley House creates a strong local economy by building human relationships; it carries on Christ s mission to bring glad tidings to the poor... liberty to captives... sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free (Lk 4:18). This Collection is the primary source of funding for CCHD s anti-poverty grants and education programs. Collection funds offer new hope each year to those living in poverty throughout the United States. And remember, 25 percent of the Collection s proceeds stays here in our diocese to ight poverty in our communities and defend the dignity of our neighbors. Help us defend human dignity and show Christ s charity to those in need. Please call the Religious Education Office for more information. On Monday, November 17, Confirmation 2016 essay #1 Who Is Jesus? Why Do I Follow Him? is due to the religion teacher. On Thursday, November 20, all Confirmation 2015 service projects are due to the Religious Education Office. There will be no REP classes on Monday, November 24 due to school parent/teacher conferences. SCHOOL NOTES First Reconciliation- Students receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation are to attend a meeting on Monday, November 17 th at 6pm in the lunchroom. Parent/s should be in attendance as well. The First Reconciliation Service will take place on Tuesday, December 2 nd at 6:30pm in the church. Children and their families should attend. Be sure to wear your Sunday best for First Reconciliation. A big thank you goes out to the young people who gave up their Saturday morning to come do some campus clean-up at St. Paul s. It was cold and windy, but this did not dampen their spirits. They worked steadily for two hours and we can tell the difference in our green areas. We appreciate their dedication to doing service hours to complete their formation and preparation to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. May God Keep Them Safe and Return Them Home To Their Families Please pray for them as they continue on this journey and celebrate their faith

Then the young men will break up into small groups with our current seminarians to hear their vocation stories and what life is like in the seminary. Parents will be able to speak to our current seminarian parents about their experiences. We will finish with a Holy Hour for vocations in the Cathedral to which all people in the diocese are invited. Historic St. Joseph is proud to present Fr. Gary Caster speaking on "He did as the Angel had Commanded: Joseph, the Man Who Raised Jesus. Fr. Caster is the author of the book, Joseph, the Man Who Raised Jesus. He is a priest of the Diocese of Peoria, currently working as the Catholic Chaplain of Williams College. He has contributed articles to various publications including Magnificat, and continues to assist with shows produced by EWTN, lead retreats and parish missions, paint, write poetry and preach the gospel.
