Sheepfold Sunday Please sit and worship with your Sheepfold leader today! Lady Chanel s Blog One of the highlights of my day is when I prepare for bed at night and Lamont scratches my head! I almost have him trained in to know the routine, but occasionally I have to remind him. It is so soothing and relieving because unlike most people, when I have an itch, I can t scratch it. Prior to ALS, I never gave being able to scratch an itch much consideration. It is amazing how we don t miss certain things or people in life until they are gone. It is interesting the little things that we will complain about or take for granted. People always compliment me for my smile and positive attitude, given my current situation. They find it amazing, but how could I not have a good attitude. Yes, ALS has taken so much from me, but I still have so much to be thankful for. I realize that my life could be much worse. Yes I am in a wheelchair, but I thank God that I have a wheelchair. I thank God that I have a communication device. I thank God that I ride shotgun in my van. I thank God that I have a husband, two wonderful daughters, a mother, and a father. I thank God that I make it to Church every Sunday. I thank God I have a job. I thank God I can connect with people online. I thank God for online shopping and Amazon prime. I thank God just for the ability to write a blog, whether anyone reads it or not. I have learned not to take anything for granted anymore. I m going to thank God for what I have, while I have it. For me, everyday has to be a day of thanksgiving, because even though I have lost so much, I still have so much to shout about. Oh, I forgot, I can t shout! So do me a favor, if you have an itch and you can scratch it, shout with me. If you have arms and you can raise them, shout with me. If you have legs and you can walk, shout with me. If you can breathe on your own, shout with me. Happy Thanksgiving and it truly has nothing to do with the dinner, but rather what God has done in your life. #AnItchICantScratch but #AHusbandWhoWill Mia Renea Washington www.mymetroexp.org Congrats to Juan & Lotoya Blizzard

Fellowship time will begin at 1:30 and is encouraged but not required. Come grow with us. Individuals from seventeen years and older are invited. For more information call the church (804-733-3753) or (804-732-7110) We live in uncertain times and have plenty to be afraid of: Terrorism, economic collapse, unemployment, nuclear armament and identity theft. That s just the beginning! Do you struggle with any fears? Some people live with the fear of outliving one s spouse or not finding a mate; infertility, miscarriage or child health issues. Some people fear not being able to protect their children, not having enough money to retire, marital infidelity or divorce and caring for aging parents. With so much to be afraid of in our world, it s hard not to worry. Listen to Jesus. He tells us, Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself (Matthew 6:34). This seems easy for Him to say, but what about when tough times come, such as when this month s mortgage payment is due, and you have no money? During the fear, try refocusing on Christ and realizing that He really does understand what we re going through is not easy. When fear begins to creep into our minds and drain our souls, we can easily lose focus on the One who gives courage. To regain focus and truly feel His love, we need to remind ourselves that He is the God of the angel armies and that Jehovah Jirah which means the Lord will provide (Genesis 22:14) cares for us. Fear strips us of power and we need to increase our faith to win over our fears. Men s Ministry (IronMen) October Trustee: Alphonso Burrow (804) 720-9486
