The Monthly Newsletter of The Central Florida Metal Detecting Club NOVEMBER 2017 From The President s Desk By Alan James Here it is mid November. The year is flying by. Thanksgiving is less than three weeks out and Christmas is only a little more than seven weeks away. But for now, our next meeting will be the day before Veteran s Day and I d like to thank each of the Veterans that have done so much for us all. I can t imagine how the world would look without them. The November meeting will be the last regular meeting of the year. We will have a NORMAL monthly finds table this month. In December, we will have the annual CFMDC Christmas party. Also in December we will hold elections for next year s officers. There will be no finds tables in December. In January, we will have the yearly finds tables and find of the year voting. Because it is November, nominations for club officers will be accepted at the meeting. If you d like to nominate anyone, please clear it with that person first. A nomination needs to be made and the person needs to accept that nomination before voting in December. I look forward to a new group at the leadership table next year. Carolyn Harwick has requested that CFMDC members bring in canned goods be donated for delivery to needy families for Thanksgiving. If you want to donate, you can bring your items to the meeting or to the next club hunt. We will have a morning beach hunt on Saturday Nov 18 th. It will begin at approx 9:00 AM and last until approx 11:30 12:00. The plan is to hold this hunt at Frank Rendon Park in Daytona Beach. The address is: 2705 S. Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32118. Bring plenty of water to drink with you. As always, please keep club members and their families that might be having challenges in your thoughts and prayers. I ll see you at the next meeting. Alan
