STEWARDSHIP October kicked off our Stewardship Initiative. We encourage you to prayerfully consider your annual Stewardship gift. This year we witnessed much positive change and are excited about what 2019 has in store. Stewardship is more than just giving of our financial resources. It also involves giving of our time, our leadership, our ideas and our passion for growing the Kingdom of God. We know our gifts will further God s work in our community and abroad. We thank you for your commitment and trust. This is the cornerstone of our Stewardship Initiative. We have set four major goals: Goal 1: 300 giving families make financial commitments to the church. Goal 2: Those families trust their financial commitment is being used effectively to grow the Kingdom of God in our community and the world. Goal 3: They are familiar with our church s vision and desire to be part of our journey to fulfill that vision through their financial giving. Goal 4: They have taken steps to ensure they fulfill their commitments as an act of faith. Don t forget to turn in your pledge cards by Nov. 11! A high priority within our church is that our families make a written financial commitment. You can commit by completing a financial commitment card, by visiting our website (fumcwp.org/pledge), or through Realm. NOVEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS 2018 fumcwp.org 2

CHURCH-WIDE LEADERSHIP MATTERS... Join Pastor David in an online discussion through our REALM community. You can get connected at onrealm.org/fumcwp and join the Leadership Matters... group. If you have questions regarding Realm, please email realm@fumcwp.org or visit fumcwp.org/realm. The purpose of this group is to update those interested in knowing more about the opportunities and challenges facing our church family. It is also a forum to ask questions about matters involved in leading our church. EXPANDED POSSIBILITIES FOR MINISTRY AT REEVES We are excited to see the expanded possibilities of ministry begin to come to life at our Reeves Campus. This October our preschool, Trinity Christian Academy (TCA), hosted their annual pumpkin patch on the lawn. It was a time of excitement and celebration of Fall. We continue to work with the city on solidifying our permits and building a sidewalk for the property. As Pastor David mentioned, we are intentionally having a slow rollout of ministries to this property to ensure nothing is overlooked. The first step is to get TCA moved in. We currently are making plans and building lay teams for this campus. Please continue to pray for the future and the vision as we seek to be a vibrant family making disciples of all people with this new location. WELCOME LLOYD DOMINGUEZ! Please welcome Lloyd Dominguez, our new Facilities Director, to the FUMCWP team! Lloyd has over 20 years experience in commercial and residential facilities and property management. He has oversight and management of all church-owned facilities and properties, including HVAC, electrical, security, telecommunications, landscaping, parking and sanitation. CHURCH-WIDE REALM This summer we launched Realm, our online community. Realm is a tool and database that will facilitate our ability to grow in deeper connection with one another. Using your online account, you can give electronically and track your giving and pledge history. If you haven t activated your Realm account, email realm@fumcwp.org for an invitation. POINT-OF-VIEW There is just one opportunity left! Sunday, Nov. 11, 12:00-5:00pm Join us in conversation at a POV (Point-of-View) session. The Florida UMC Conference prepared materials for local churches to facilitate conversations regarding a Way Forward. These POV sessions focus on community as we work together as a church family to listen and strengthen our trusting relationships with each other. Join us for an interactive workshop to practice empathy. Register: fumcwp.org/thewayforward The POV experience is a constructive step toward building a more empathic church. It is a non-threatening conversation featuring collaborative table discussions, empathy mapping, and an affirmation of our shared identity as the Body of Christ through worship and Communion. All are welcome at this table. -David B. Witwer The season of Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas and ends on Christmas Eve. It is the beginning of the church year for Christians. During this time, we prepare for the coming of Christ. We look back and celebrate the birth of Jesus and look forward to the second coming of Christ. Save the date for these worship services and look for more details in upcoming church communications! NOVEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS 2018 fumcwp.org 4

They will be part of the Christmas Mall hosted by the Women of Hope. TIME TO GET YOUR FLU SHOT Flu season began in October and runs through the Winter months. Shots are available locally at pharmacies, primary care offices and walk-in clinics. It takes 2 weeks for the shot to be effective, so it is best to get the vaccine early before the peak of flu season. There are different strength vaccines available, so if you are over 65, talk with your PCP about a high dose vaccine or a vaccine with a boosting agent to enhance effectiveness. 5 NOVEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS 2018 fumcwp.org
