Rescue Mission We are looking for volunteers to serve dinner at the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake on November 9. No special training required, just a servant-like heart. Coats, Hats, Gloves The Rescue Mission is in need of these warming items now. If you have some, please drop them off in Fellowship Hall in the big basket. Early winter weather has caught them off-guard. Beginner Ringers A class for beginner bell ringers, grades 2nd-6th (and any adults) is held on Mondays, 5-6:00 pm. Youth Group Dennis Dickerson from the Rescue Mission will share with us about the organization s mission and outreach. We will also hear first-hand from student who is part of the Rescue Mission s Recovery Program about what it is like to live on the streets of Salt Lake. Coffee Fellowship Coordinators WANTED: Person(s) to recruit, schedule, and coach host teams and ensure supplies are available. Help Out a Friend Vern Rosenstiel is seeking some help with a little work at his house. The insurance company is giving him some grief over some exterior paint that is coming off. He is in no shape to be doing the repairs himself. If any could pitch in, Vern would love to talk to you. Give him a call: 801-808-8421. Vern has been the backbone of the Hilltop UMM for many years and it would be a good thing to give him a hand. The Building All persons wishing to use any space in the building must submit a building use request form (found in the office above the counter) to the Administrative Coordinator (Leigh Anne). Crossroads Thrift Store Donations A few actions on your part would be helpful: 1) if you have a carload of stuff to donate, please go ahead and drive it down to store and unload it there. 1385 W Indiana Ave, SLC. If it s a few items, feel free to leave them at the church. 2) Please bag the donations that you re going to put in the bins. Thank you! Crossroads Urban Center Foods of the month for October are canned meals (ravioli, spaghettios). Thrift store items of the month are blankets. Please leave your donations in the black bins in the hallway near the kitchen. Hilltop Children's Choir Hilltop Children's Choir rehearsals have begun! Children in grades 1-5 are always welcome to join us for fun, hands-on rehearsals on Thursday evenings, 6:15-7:15pm. We incorporate percussion, Orff, handchimes, and drama as we learn about music and explore our voices. Contact director Katie Houts with any questions: katie.houts@gmail.com Nametags Wearing our nametags helps all of us get to know each other better. If you have a nametag, please wear it during worship and fellowship. If you don t have one, we will be happy to provide one for you. Please get a note to the office to order you one. 10

Paper Recycling Bin Bring your junk mail, magazines, newspapers, and cardboard boxes to be recycled and make money for missions. Drop your paper products in the lively painted bin at the back of the parking lot. Every month the bin reaches a ton of good recyclables, Hilltop earns $15. Christ Centered Yoga Every Saturday at 9:00 am in room the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome. Donations accepted. Contact Robin Dale: medicinemom1@q.com Prayer Requests You may request prayers for yourself or a loved one to be lifted up during worship. Look for prayer request cards in the pew racks. Fill one out and hand it to Pastor Dennis or the liturgist during the Passing of the Peace. He will share appropriate prayer requests during the blessings and concerns portion of worship. The prayer requests will be added to the prayer chain on Monday and included in the next Sunday bulletin (unless you mark that you d like it kept private). You may also e-mail the office during the week. Order Chancel Flowers Honor a loved one, celebrate a special occasion, or show appreciation with a flower arrangement for the chancel. Arrangements are $15 and can be ordered by signing the book on the north table in Fellowship Hall. Make checks payable to Hilltop UMC and write flowers in the memo line. You may take your flowers following the 10:30 worship service. Emergency Contacts The Special Care Ministry Team is working to collect the names and phone numbers of persons we can contact in case anyone in our congregation has an emergency or is hospitalized. Please submit your name and the name of your designated person and his or her phone number to the church office. This information will be stored in our church database. 11
