Session Report Session met October 17 with Dr. Pat Smith from Muncie as moderator. Elders Lisa Hazelrigg, Don Kirk, Fred Sess, Mary Swope, Larry Zumkeller, and Carla Beard were present; and Elder Sess led us in devotions and prayer. Treasurer Larry Zumkeller reported that total income for the month of September was $5214.67. Expenses totaled $4601.55. The New Covenant Income reserve account gained $2464.32, and the Doll Fund gained $8003.19 for the third quarter. Elder Don Kirk reported that the closet in the pastor s study was repaired and that the Fellowship Hall carpet was cleaned. The glass in the Seventh Street doors (old entrance) will be replaced. Elder Carla Beard reported that a Harvest Dinner pitch-in is scheduled for October 28. The first committee meeting for Breakfast with the Christmas Angel is scheduled for Oct. 22. There is some debate about whether BCA will take place Dec. 1 or Dec. 8. Elder Lisa Hazelrigg reported that she has posted the items we still need for our Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets on the doors in the parlor; donations have continued. She plans to distribute the boxes on the Monday before Thanksgiving, 3-5 in the afternoon. Elder Hazelrigg also reported that the Nominating Committee met. They are looking for 1 elder and 2 deacons. Secretary Marilyn Stevens requested a change in her schedule for Election Day. She will work Wednesday that week instead of Tuesday. The Interim Pastor subcommittee reported on its progress. Another negotiating session is scheduled for November 4. Elder Mary Swope reported that elders assisted Rev. Wilson with communion on Oct. 7. Rev. Wilson has served as pulpit supply since Sept. 18 and will continue, except for Oct. 21, when Elder Beard will fill the pulpit. Session voted to pay mileage beginning at mile 1 for pulpit supply speakers and moderators who travel more than 40 miles round trip to help us. Session voted to move the November Session meeting to Nov. 28 to avoid Thanksgiving. Given the difficulty in finding people who are willing to serve as officers, Session established a committee to look at more effective use of talent and leadership in the congregation. Elder Zumkeller moved to adjourn, and the meeting closed with prayer. 2018 November 4 Calling All Disciples

Deacons Meeting: 10 October 2018 PRESENT: ABSENT: Cathy Kirk, Ann Kirschner, Kay Bishop and Jill Yaryan Sarah Smith Cathy Kirk read a newspaper article written by Bob Zaltsberg for Devotions titled How can you hate me when you don t even know me? The article was about Daryl Davis and what he experienced his whole life and how he made a commitment to dialogue and bridge divides both small and large. His motto: Talk more; fight less. His was a message of Hope. Sarah Smith will give devotions for the November meeting. Ann Kirschner moved to approve the minutes from the prior meeting. Kay Bishop 2 nd and motion carried. Deacon Business: The cards for birthdays and anniversaries for November were prepared by Kay Bishop and were signed by Deacons. The Deacons moved the easel and picture into the parlor in order for our congregation to see the picture given us by John McCann. Ann Kirschner delivered the jewelry that had been collected by our congregation to Hickory Creek Nursing home for the project they are doing for Christmas. She mentioned that she had seen a decoration made using buttons and we decided that donating buttons in addition to the jewelry might be beneficial too. Communion Set-up: Deacon of the Week: Flower Report: Giving Tree Mission: Prayer Concerns: November 4 th - Kay Bishop and Ann Kirschner December 2 nd - Sarah Smith and Cathy Kirk Nov 4 - Nov 10 Kay Bishop Nov 11 - Nov 17 Ann Kirschner Nov 18 - Nov 24 Sarah Smith Nov 25 - Dec 1 Cathy Kirk Ann will provide details soon for ordering poinsettias for Christmas. She will need to order by November 26 th. Jill informed, Lori Bane, that we will again sponsor 20 children to buy Christmas for this year. If we don t have enough contributions from the, Congregation, we can use from the Deacons budget or possibly from the proceeds from Breakfast with the Christmas Angel. Lori reassured us she will get us the information as soon as possible. Continue for all listed in our Sunday Bulletin The motion to adjourn was made and seconded and all agreed. Cathy Kirk closed the meeting with prayer. Respectfully submitted, Jill Yaryan Next meeting: November 14, 2018 arrive at 7:00 pm meeting will begin by 7:15 pm 2018 November 5 Calling All Disciples

Mission Committee Thank you to everyone for the great response to the pull tabs in the back of the sanctuary! There are only a few yellow pull tabs for food items left on the back doors of the sanctuary to complete our baskets. We have set the date of Monday, Nov. 19 from 3-5 for the Thanksgiving basket distribution. Mary is starting to check with people to get our list of recipients. Family Video will be providing 20 turkeys for Thanksgiving. We will also purchase some small turkeys/turkey breasts for our single seniors on the list. We can still use boxes to hold all the items. If you have a papersized box you don t need, please bring it to church for us to use. We will stay after church on Nov. 18 to fill boxes for the distribution the next day. Anyone who is available to help will be welcome. Since we have Community Meals that evening, we will probably line up the boxes in the hallway Sunday and move them to the Fellowship Hall Monday. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all the support of this project. NOTE: Church Office will be closed Election Day, November 6th and Thanksgiving Day, November 22 nd 2018 November 7 Calling All Disciples
