Music ministers give of their talent and time to support the assembly in its worship. Don t waste another year thinking: I really should do something. Just do it! JOIN NOW! Choir (open to teen through adult) The choir serves the parish as music ministers for primarily the 10:00a.m. Sunday Mass as well as special liturgies such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. The choral group supports and enhances the assembly s song and sings in a variety of musical styles. Rehearsals are held in Corpus Christi Hall on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 8:30p.m. Join us for some music and fellowship! Contemporary Group (welcomes all ages) The Contemporary Group serves the parish as music ministers once a month at the 4:00p.m. Saturday Mass. A variety of styles of music are sung with a more updated sound combining several instruments and singers. We are seeking an additional bass player, guitarist, and string or woodwind player. Rehearsals are at 3:00p.m for the 4:00p.m. Mass on that day. Instrumentalists All instruments can be used to embellish the music at liturgy. Clarinet, flute, guitar, trumpet, bass, percussion, strings, and any other instrument can add additional color and enhance the environment for worship. If you play an instrument, please know that you can share your gifts in a unique way. You must be accomplished enough to learn the music on your own. Rehearsals are arranged on an individual basis. Please consider sharing your talents with us at Ascension of Our Lord Parish. WE NEED YOU! For more information, please contact our Music Director, Darlene Crilly, at dcrilly@ascensionofourlord.net or call the parish office at 630-629-5810, ext. 214.

Vince Zaprzal Director of Parish Ministries, Religious Education & Facilities 630-953-4415 vzaprzal@ascensionofourlord.net Dear Parishioners, It is great that we continue to gather together week after week. Our parish family is what we make of it and it is great to see that so many people are involved in different aspects of our parish life. If you are new to the parish WELCOME! If you are just visiting with us today WELCOME! If you wish to register please contact the parish or stop in the office after Mass on Sunday morning. Tina will be glad to assist you! Please allow me some time to update you on a few items: MUSIC AREA As you can see today, the Cantor Stand where our Cantor leads song has been moved to a more visible location in our worship space. This allows for more space in our music area. Over the next week or two, we plan on removing the front two pews on the far west side to allow more space for our music ministry. This will also allow us to bring the grand piano that is in Corpus Christi into our worship space. It is a beautiful instrument gifted to Father Cullen many years ago and it will help to further enhance our prayer together. We are blessed with Darlene s vision for our music ministry and for the many ideas that she has to enhance our liturgy. When we gather together to pray, it is one of the most beautiful and intimate things we do all week and we should do it well! NEW LED SIGN Our new LED sign is also currently in production. It is the hope that it will be installed before the weather gets really cold! We have two donations towards the new sign already! HEATING AND COOLING To date, we have received two donations towards our rooftop heating and cooling units. All of the rooftop units were installed when the addition took place some 25 years ago. One unit is currently dead that serves the Narthex area. The good news is that $30,000 has been received towards this project already. We anticipate this project to run about $100,000. CAMPUS SECURITY We have received bids to update our campus security. It has been a very long time since our security has been updated. Too often we are reading and hearing about instances when better security could have been used to prevent or to stop some actions. We are looking at updating all of our cameras and locks. This project is projected between $20,000-$25,000. Our goal is to keep everyone as safe as possible. Thank you to everyone for what you do for Ascension of Our Lord Parish. Your continued generosity of your time, talent, treasure, and prayer is what unites us all together. If you desire to donate to any of the above causes, please contact myself or Ed Rylko our Business Manager. During this month of November, let us call upon all those who are Saints and to all of our loved ones who have died to intercede for our prayer. Because of them, we are here today! Peace, Vince
