A Note About Our Prayerbooks Welcome to the South Street Temple. Our prayerbooks, Mishkan T Filah, are in the lobby or on the bookshelf at the front of the sanctuary. We invite you to take one so that you may join in our worship. As these are sacred books, we ask that you handle them with care by keeping them off the floor and returning them to their proper place at the conclusion of the service. Each prayer in Mishkan T Filah is laid out in a two-page spread, the Hebrew text, transliteration, and English translation on the right, and on the left are two alternate English readings reflecting on the theme of the prayer. The rabbi or cantorial soloist will announce page numbers and which option will be read. Shabbat Shalom. We are glad you are here. It s time for our annual holiday drive for Clinic With a Heart! Please help by donating over-the-counter medications and personal care items. Donations can be brought to the Temple Office anytime the Temple is open. A Note from the Chesed (Caring) Branch Our Temple community could use some volunteers to provide transportation to and from doctor s appointments for those who either cannot drive or who take medications that prohibit driving. We are also looking for volunteers able to do light housekeeping or who would be willing to stay with a family member so that caregivers can go shopping, and run other errands for themselves. If you are able to help, please contact: Vicki Edwards, Chesed Branch Head at vgrandma1947@gmail.com or 402-730-1836 Gift Shop December Special: 25% off EVERYTHING! Israel is turning 70 in 2018 and a tour of Israel is being planned via Tifereth Israel for members of the Lincoln Jewish community, their friends, and family members for June 4-14. Nancy Coren is working with Kenes-Tours of Tel Aviv to provide tour members this lifechanging experience. Individuals who would like to see the itinerary and learn more about this multi-generational tour should contact Nancy at ncoren@tiferethisraellincoln.org Although the registration period with a deposit due concludes at the end of December, it is important to reserve your space now. We have already tacked down our rooms because of the high interest during the 70 th anniversary celebrations.
