Faith United Methodist Church Reflections June & July FRONT PAGE NEWS MISSIONS...Serving the Community Habitat for Humanity: The build this summer is right up the road, next to Dobbins Air Force Base, near the intersection of Austell Rd and Atlanta Rd. We will bless the Ayele family, a single mom and two children (ages 4 and 2). Our dates are Saturdays from June 27 to August 22. How can I help? Pray give a donation serve a meal (June 27) and lend a hand! What should I expect? Arrive to the site by 8 a.m. Wear sunscreen, a hat, work clothes and sturdy shoes. Bring your water bottle and work gloves. There will be others from churches, businesses, and the community no telling how many will be there, but there is work for all. Interior paint insulation siding trim-work landscaping punch list Habitat t-shirts are a great way to show off your good work and advertise the effort! You will be shown how to do the project of the morning everyone else is an amateur, too! Lunch and refreshments will be served. What kind of work is it? Habitat contracts with the pros for fine work like plumbing and electrical, but volunteers do most everything else: the framing, the walls, the painting, and landscaping, etc. What time does it end? It s helpful for the volunteers to stay til mid-afternoon and finish the tasks, but some volunteers will leave at various times throughout the day. Is it fun? Definitely! You will learn new things, meet great people, get tired out, and know that you did something important. How do I sign up? Look for the yellow sign-up sheet in the church narthex, or call the church office. Email Harvey Hightower if you would like more information, harveyhightower@bellsouth.net. Coming in June Imagine No Malaria. This is a fantastic, effective program to eliminate malaria, which is a preventable disease! Malaria weakens, disables, and kills men, women, and children throughout whole continents, but education and prevention have already dramatically reduced the death rate. We will be talking more about Imagine No Malaria in June, and our offering to it will be the Bishop s Offering for Annual Conference this summer. www.ngumc.org/imaginenomalaria. For distr ict infor mation about the campaign, see www.ngumc.or g/ amryimaginenomalaria. Special Offering Sunday June 14th.
