Pastor Scott Velain The Trinity 3 in 1 or 1 in 3 Part 1 This study on what modern day Christendom calls the Trinity is not something that we've studied in the past, and the reason we haven't studied it in the past is because this particular topic has been one that I personally have wrestled with for several years... in fact... most of my adult Christian life, and I don't believe that a Pastor who has been given the task of teaching Gods Word should do so with out being absolutely rock solid certain about the fact that what he is teaching is indeed the true Word of God given to him... by God.. And I think that to many Pastors out there need to learn this valuable lesson, before they step out on to that platform and fill the ears of Gods people with a pile of man made wisdom. When I ask him for discernment.. he doesn't always give it to me over night. He often times wants me to really hunger for it.. and some times I'm convinced that he'll only give it to me when I'm so tired of searching, and studying, and digging.. that I'm almost ready to give up. But when he knows that I really want the answer to that question.. he's all to ready to freely give it to me, and I've found... that if I'll put my hands to the plow and move to proclaim that truth and to do... and to live that truth... then and only then will he give me more truth. And so what I come before you with here today is not some quick new found study, or a new revelation that was given to me over night, or in a dream, or in a vision... but what I come before you with here today is the result of prayer and supplication, and asking him... for the discernment that can only come from him, and him alone. Now I don't know about you.. but I suspect that a lot of you out there who are listening to this broadcast were programmed much like I was. From the time I was a young man.. I had always been taught the idea of a triune God.. three gods... all co-equal, all co-eternal, all divine, all with equal authority and power... three gods in one. And I think it's safe to say that we've all seen these grafts and charts and analogies, and the idea of the egg being yoke, egg white, and shell... with 3 parts... and yet all one egg... depicting the idea of this three in one god that no one can really explain by the way... and isn't that interesting... you see they will tell you it's a mystery. They conveniently call it The Mystery Of The Trinity... and when you probe them farther they'll almost always go to 1 st Corinthians 13:12 where we're told that we see through a glass darkly... and then face to face... in other words.. you're not supposed to know... you're just supposed to trust them... that there is a so called Trinity. Your not smart enough to understand such a doctrine... you can't grasp it.. don't even try... it just is... what it is... or so they say. 1

Whats important for us to understand is that this very idea of a triune god is much like all of the other man made, man created, man fabricated doctrines, teachings, traditions, and myths that come out of the Roman Catholic Church. It's Pagan in nature.. and almost always does not stand up to what we find in the scriptures. These Triad deities first appeared in ancient Egypt soon after the great flood of Noah's time around 2300 BC. These deities were known as Osiris, Isis, and Horus. Nimrod shared ruler-ship with his father Cush (also known as Menes) in Egypt s first dynasty. After Nimrod s death, Semiramis claimed that their son Horus was Nimrod reincarnated. These three Osiris (Nimrod), Isis (Semiramis) and Horus (their son) all came to be exalted, and were one of the first Triad deities invented by our adversary no doubt. In Babylon, these same three were known as Ninus, Ishtar and Tammuz. Over time, this triad became well-known in many nations. In ancient Rome, a triad of deities was worshiped known as Jupiter, Juno and Minerva and they bore similarities to these other-mentioned triads. Whats important to understand is virtually all ancient religions possessed triad deities, and these Triad deities were well known all over the globe. An example of this is found in the ancient roots of Hinduism. After the 6th century BC, Hinduism featured a three-in-one god that became known as the Trimurti. The god Brahman consisted of (1) Brahma, the creator, (2) Vishnu, the preserver and (3) Shiva, the destroyer.. and so once again... just like all of the other pagan teachings of the Roman Catholic Church... so to the so called Christian Trinity was born out of the Roman Catholic Church who has always enjoyed her own man made version of Christianity because it's her version and her version alone. The scripture warns us about these kinds of deception all through out the writings of the Apostles... lets go through a few of those scriptures before we get started here this morning... lets turn to 2 nd Thessalonians chapter 2 verses 7 through 10: READ 2ND THESS 2:7-10 Lets turn to 2 nd Corinthians chapter 11 verses 13 through 15: How about 1 st John chapter 4 verse 1: During this study on what modern day Christendom so proudly proclaims is The Trinity.. we're once again going to find that the demonic teachings of the Roman Catholic Church truly have no bounds.. and that much of what she and her daughter protestant churches preach and 2

teach comes from mans philosophical understanding and the teachings of men like Plato, and Philo, and is deeply rooted in Gnosticism. During the second century Justin Martyr who was well known for his antisemitism and hatred for the Jews defined the trinity as The Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. His thinking was influenced by Middle Platonism, Gnosticism, and the writings of Philo and other prominent philosophers of that time. The truth is my friends.. is that you will not find a triune God anywhere in your Bible. No where is the word Trinity found in the Bible nor anything even remotely like it. But once again... the Roman Catholic church has twisted the scriptures into a mystical pagan myth that can not be understood by any man woman or child... and once again.. Gods people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because they have rejected knowledge. God told David that it would be Davids offspring.. that would come from Davids body.. that God would create... and establish a kingdom... for Davids offspring... who God would call his own son. Let us read 2 nd Samuel chapter 7 verses 12 through 17: Just as Yahshua is Davids offspring who comes from His Body.. Yahshua was also created by God! Yahshua comes...from God. Yahshua Jesus... just like all men was created by God. And God instilled in Yahshua... (who was an offspring of David and came from Davids body) Gods understanding, and his wisdom, and his law, and his ethics, and his reasoning, and all these things were Gods attributes. These things all existed before Yahshua the man existed.. but they were given to Yahshua the man by the Father Yahovah the one true God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. So in other words... all of Gods attributes... we instilled in the man who came from Davids Body that God created... not according to me or any man.. but according to the scripture that Timothy says is God breathed. God created a kingdom for Davids offspring who would come from Davids body, and God promised David that he would establish this kingdom for Davids offspring forever. God did not say I will establish my own kingdom.. that had already been done. God was simply taking what what was already Gods.. and he was giving that power and authority of that kingdom to Davids offspring who God said would be a son to him. Let me ask you my friends... can a man become his own son? This offspring of Davids, who God calls his only begotten son... is of course Yahshua Hamashiach... Jesus our Messiah, and the scripture clearly tells us that God would raise him up in 2 nd Samuel 7:12. Think about his for a moment. God the Father did not sin. Man sinned. God the Father does not 3

need to make himself a sacrifice. It was man who sinned... and it was man who needed to offer himself up to be the sacrifice for the atonement of the sins that he committed against God. Many will claim that God came down and hung himself on the cross.. but this is not taught anywhere in the scriptures my friends. God the Father walked with his son Yahshua all the days of his life, and when God told Yahshua what he had to do.. Yahshua agreed to do it, and you can see evidence of this agreement in the Garden of Gethsemane when Yahshua asked his Father if it would be his will to take that cup away from him. But of course the cup could not be taken away from him. Man had sinned against God and a willing sacrifice had to offer himself up to God to atone for the sins of man.. and Yahshua knew that.. and so even though there is no doubt in my mind that God had showed Yahshua what was going to happen to him... Yahshua got up off of his knees that day from that prayer in that garden.. and he once again agreed to continued on to finish the work that he had already started. God required a willing sacrifice from man for the sins that man had committed against him.. and Yahshua the offspring of David who God created and called his only begotten son... was that willing sacrifice. Think about it my friends... Why would God need to be sacrificed? This makes no sense. God did not sin against man.. man sinned against God. And Yahshua knew this full well, and Yahshua was that willing sacrifice for all mankind... and this is why God was with Yahshua right up until the time he had to die and this is why Yahshua says Eli Eli Sabithani (My God my God why have you forsaken me) right before he died. God had been with him all the days of his life from the time he was a young boy to the time he was a teenager, right on to when he grew into the man that we all know and love... but Yahshua the man had to die on that cross alone in order to be the sacrifice for the sins of man. When that time came... God the Father had to leave his son... to be that Passover lamb... that ultimate willing sacrifice... that would atone for the sins of all mankind. Lets turn to 1 st Corinthians chapter 15 verse 22: When I was a young man and my mother would leave us kids with a babysitter one of the last things that she would say to us is I want you kids to remember... this babysitter is me until I return. Warning us.. that what ever the babysitter said we were to treat as our own mother had said it.. and if we didn't obey that babysitter... it would be like not obeying our own mother... and when she got home... we learned that the babysitter... truly was our mother while she was away, and the punishment for not listening was just the same. This is much like the relationship between God the Father and his only begotten son Yahshua. God gave his son Yahshua all authority in Heaven and on earth. Lets read that Matthew chapter 28 verses 18 through 20: 4

And because Yahshua was one with the Father... when we baptize in the name of Yahshua.. we are baptizing in the name that represents the Father the Son and the Ruach Hackodesh.. because all authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to him by the Father, and Yahshua had the Ruach Hackodesh that was given to him by his Father in Matthew 3:16 LETS READ MATTHEW 3:16 AND 17: Clearly this is not a Catholic created triune God. These are three separate beings all communicating between each other. All unique... all interacting with one another, and all separate and apart from each other.. yet all one in spirit and in belief, and thought. I have heard hours upon hours of Biblical scholars, and Pastors, and denominational charters of men debating back and fourth over who Yahshua Jesus is, and what he is, and how he came to be, and almost none of them even have a clue. And the reason they don't have a clue is because all that they know is what their denominational charter of men has told them or what their so called early church father said, or what some seminary professor taught them. They know their scriptures almost by memory just like the Pharisees of Yahshua's time... and yet.. just like the Pharisees of Yahshuas time...they don't have the discernment that God gave a goose. The only way that I was able to see the simplicity of who God our Father and his Son really are.. was when I was able to throw off, and ignore the programming that I had been fed by today's modern day Roman Grecko pagan belief system. There simply is no Roman Catholic Trinity. Take these scriptures into consideration.. lets turn to 1 st Timothy chapter 2 verses 5 and 6: Let me ask you my friends... does it make sense to you that God would mediate between himself? Listen to what our own Messiah tells us in Mark chapter 12 verse 28 through 30: Our Messiah says that God is one God. Where did Yahshua Jesus get that from?... He got it from Deuteronomy chapter 6 verse 4: And we can also find several other scriptures to witness to this fact all throughout the Scriptures READ ISA 44:6 READ ISA 45:5 AND 6 READ ISA 46:9 Let me ask you my friends... are we starting to get the picture? Lets read some more scripture... I like scripture... once again my friends... the answer is in these God breathed scriptures that Timothy says are God Breathed and profitable for teaching and for reproof and for correction 5

and for training in righteousness... lets read 1 st Corinthians chapter 8 verse 6: READ JOHN 17:3 Here's a quick snapshot of what the scriptures tell us Yahshua Jesus is: SEE SLIDE 1 Let me ask you my friends.. does this fit the traditional trinitarian teaching of an equal God who is omnipotent, co-equal, and co-eternal? No.. my friends.. it does not. Listen to these scriptures that tell us very clearly that our Messiah who was a man... was tempted just like a man is tempted. Lets turn to Luke 4:1 and 2: READ LUKE 22:28 READ HEB 2:18 READ HEB 4:15 NOW... what are we told in James chapter 1 verse 13: James says that God can not be tempted... and yet Yahshua Jesus the man was tempted according to the scripture. Once again my friends I ask you plainly... does this sound like a coequal God to you? Lets read a little more about who Yahshau Jesus says that he is and lets get more comfortable with the relationship between him and his Father according to his own red letter words In John 5:30: How about John 14:28: Joh 14:28 You heard me say to you, 'I am going away, and I will come to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. Still sound like a co-equal God to you my friends? Lets read mark 13:32: We're told that our Messiah was the first fruit of the new harvest in 1 st Corinthians chapter 15 verse 21 through 23: How could God be part of the first fruit of a harvest that was part of a kingdom that he was establishing for Davids offspring? Lets read Romans chapter 5 verses 17 through 19 6

Over and over again we're told that Yahshua Jesus is ONE MAN. But what does today's modern day Christendom say? It says no... he but one of three gods! Who does Yahshua Jesus say that we are to worship in Matthew 4:10? Notice that Yahshua Jesus applies this commandment to himself. He tells the Devil that he can not worship him because he can only worship the one true God and he can only serve him and him alone. Listen to what else he says in Matthew 12:32: How then can a man say that Yahshua is co-equal to the Spirit? A man can only say this.. if he is preaching another Jesus. What else does he tell us with his own red letter words in Mark 10:18? Listen closely to what our Messiah told the mother of the sons of Zebedee in Matthew chapter 20 verses 20 through 23: Again, here we see a clear limitation of Christ's prerogative, and proof of his subjection to his Father. Once again my friends.. no mention of him being co-equal to God his Father. And as we dig deeper we find more evidence of the subjection of the Son to his Father in Matthew chapter 26 verse 39: Does it make sense to you my friends that God would kneel to himself and ask that his own will be done? No... it does not. And I know you all remember this story found in Matthew chapter 26 verses 51 through 53: So Yahshua Jesus tells us that he could ask his Father and he would send him more than twelve legions of angles. Would God need to ask himself to send himself 12 legions of angles my friends? No he would not. Once again... the co-equal three in one trinity of the Roman Catholic church is not and I repeat not... the one true God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Lets turn to 1 st Cor chapter 15 verse 24 through 28: Once again my friends just as we clearly see in verse 28... our Messiah will also be subjected to his Father who put all things in subjection under him... clearly my friends.. this is not a pagan triad deity with co-equal power. Once again my friends let God be true and every man a liar as we read what the scriptures say in 1 st Corinthians 11:3: The Trinity says "The glory co-equal, the majesty co-eternal, none afore or after other, none greater or less." So what shall we believe my friends... the scriptures... or the unexplainable pagan mystery... of the Catholic created Trinity? 7

Now... with all of that scriptural evidence laid out before you... I will now submit to you some of the more prominent scriptures that the Trinitarians love to use to try and prove their trinity doctrine. One of the scriptures they love to use is found in John chapter 5 verses 22 and 23: Trinitarians love to try to use this scripture to prove their point... but this proves nothing more than just how blind they really are. This scripture makes it very clear that there is a distinction between the Father and his Son. The Father himself does not judge men... why?... because that authority has been given to his Son... so once again my friends... we see a clear and evident distinction between both the Father and his Son who are clearly not co-equal. The Father gave willingly to his Son that authority... the Son clearly did not already have it. Another cherry picked scripture they love to use is John 10:30: Our Messiah was not saying that he was God. He was saying that he and his Father are one in spirit and in mind. Take into consideration what he already said in John 17:11! So in other words my friends if John 10:30 is implying that Jesus was God.. then John 17:11 is implying that we are all God! Does this in any way make any sense to you my friends? Lets jump down to verses 20 and 21 what does our Messiah say? So if these scriptures all mean that God and Jesus are one God then we are all one God with him according to what they believe! Do you see how ridiculous this whole Trinitarian belief system is my friends? Yahshua Jesus was on in spirit and thought, and belief. Yahshua Jesus never claimed to be.. his Father, and you won't find that anywhere in scripture if you understand the context of the scripture. The oneness that Yahshua is speaking of is the oneness in Spirit my friends. What did Paul tell us in the book of Ephesians chapter 4 verses 1 through 3? If Yahshua Jesus is a triune God my friends... then we are all Gods according to the trinitarian belief system... Lets read Galatians chapter 3 verses 27 through 29: Why were the Jews seeking to kill Yahshua in the first place? Lets read John 5:18: Yahshua did not claim to be his Father... he claimed to be the son of his Father. And in those days the Son inherited all that was his Fathers. Father and son are basically one flesh.. but two distinctly different men. Another trinitarian cherry picked scripture that they love to try and use to prove the trinity is found in John 6:40: It's difficult for anyone who's read the whole book to see how this scripture could possibly give 8

any incentive for someone to believe in a Trinity. When we're talking about the power of Jesus ) which seems to be the idea here).. we need to reaffirm through the scriptures where Yahshua gets his power to raise people from the dead...from in Matthew 28:18. If God the Father chooses to give his only begotten Son all authority in Heaven and on earth then so be it! Yahshua always did the will of his Father... not his own will according to John 4:34: And again we find the same thing in John 6:39: And again in John 6:40: Another trinitarian cherry picked scripture can be found in John chapter 10 verses 17 and 18: My friends this scripture in no way proves the doctrine of a Trinity. Verse 18 tells us that our Messiah says and I quote This charge I have received from my Father. So who was it that raised Yahshua from the grave? Did Yahshua raise himself from the grave? Not according to Paul in Acts 2:32: Lets also read Acts 2:22 through 24: Lets also read Acts 3:14 and 15: You can also see Acts 13:30,33-34,37; 17:31, Romans 6:4; 2 Corinthians 4:14, Galatians 1:1, 1 Peter 1:21 - all stating that God raised Jesus from the dead.. he did not raise himself from the dead. Who was it that made the man Yahshua both Lord and Messiah in Acts 2:36? Here's another ridiculous cherry picked scripture that Trinitarians love to use to try and sell us their trinitarian doctrine found in Philippians chapter 2 verses 5 through 8: Notice my friends what this scripture clearly proclaims. It says and I quote from verse 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, And let me stress the point my friends that to be obedient... you need someone to be obedient to... do you not? Yahshua Jesus... was not obedient to himself... but to his Father in Heaven. In conclusion my friends... Let us not destroy the glorious Scriptural picture of salvation by making our Lord, Jesus Christ, an eternal, per-existent, omnipotent, untemptable, co-equal trinity of Gods as the pagans do. He was a "man made strong" says Psalms 80:17; a man specially and divinely begotten by the eternal Spirit-Power of God; a man in whom God dwelt, and through whom God spoke 9

and worked and manifested Himself; a man who recognized that of himself he could do nothing - that all power, wisdom and goodness was of God, a man who rendered perfect submission and obedience to God his Father. My friends you will not find anywhere in the scriptures where we are told that there is a three in one God. And the Apostles all fought against this philosophical pagan wisdom. This my friends is the foolish "wisdom of the world" which the Apostles and early believers repudiated and combated, and yet today's modern day version of Christianity has succumbed to. The Apostle Paul makes a very empathetic plea to us all in the first two chapters of 2 nd Corinthians to help us understand the difference between the philosophical wisdom of men.. and the truth bearing scriptures that are God breathed according to Timothy. We should know full well that any theology derived from Platonic Greek philosophy is nothing more than a trap set by our adversary himself to turn us away from the truth of Gods scriptures. Anyone who has gained their understanding from the scriptures and the scriptures alone would never believe in a philosophically Platonic Pagan Trinity because there is no such thing ever taught in the scriptures if we believe in scripture and scripture alone. Once again my friends I will leave you with a quick run through the scriptures: Luk 2:52 Joh 17:3 1Ti 2:5 1Ti 2:6 Act 2:22 and 23 Joh 5:30 Joh 14:28 Luk 1:35 My friends.. it was the baby born by Mary who God says came from the body of David and who was Davids offspring that God created in her.. that was the Messiah. A man who God gave all authority in Heaven and on earth. These scriptures are truth.. and they are the antidote to the confused.. contradictory teachings of human philosophy and it's man made, 10

man created, man fabricated Catholic... Trinity. 11
