Integrated Family Catechesis Workshops will take place at Christ the King, Daphne (Oct. 16) and Holy Spirit, Montgomery (Oct. 18). Dr. Joann Paradise is traveling to our Archdiocese to talk with those who work with children & youth in our schools and parishes. Encourage your team to join you for one of these important workshops! Our children and youth deserve the very best that we can give them and we as parish & school leaders need to learn more about how we can reach out to help families make their faith the centerpiece of their home. The Assessment Instrument for parishes for the Archdiocesan Four Priori es will be given to pastors this month. This assessment tool is intended to be used by pastors and parish leaders as a way to s mulate conversa on regarding the four priori es set by Archbishop Rodi: Evangeliza on, Strengthening the Family, Serving the Needs of Neighbors, and Encouraging Voca ons to Priesthood and Religious Life. Be on the lookout for more informa on about this. Also, be on the lookout for more informa on concerning the upcoming Marriage Mentor Couple Training. OEFL will soon be training veteran couples to assist pastors in preparing engaged couples for a life me together. If you know of couples who have been married at least 5 years and have great Catholic marriages, suggest their names to your pastor! From the Youth Ministry Office: The Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry had a blessed and busy month of September. We had an awesome me with the 5 th grade students of our Catholic schools before they a ended the Blue Mass on September 11; they were encouraged and challenged to see themselves and their lives as a gi from God, and that they are called to give that gi away as God calls each of them to a specific voca on. Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Parish Leadership Assembly of the school year. While the conversa on is frui ul, I am always so edified to see parish leaders from all across the diocese joining us from Dothan to Auburn to Pra ville to Mon Luis and everywhere in between! This month, we have two big events on the first two Saturday s: the Called to Love women s conference and ACYC JR! Please pray for the faithfulness and success of these two events. We ve begun mee ng with the Search Team in small groups, and they will have an overnight retreat in Pra ville on October 20-21. The adult leaders provide forma on and training so that when Search Retreats are presented, they are truly for teens, by teens. We are working on giving talks and leading small groups, all the while repea ng that we are disciples before leaders. Search Retreat 19 will be November 9-11 at Children s Harbor on Lake Mar n in Alexander City. Registra on is open at our website, www.archmobyouth.org/search New to the registra on this year is our ability to take credit cards immediately a er they register. Our peer-to-peer retreats are fulfilling and grace filled, so please promote the opportunity and consider personally invi ng a few of your young people to par cipate. We are preparing for both ACYC and the March for Life pilgrimage. If you have any ques ons about either of those events, please let me know. Catholic Young Adults of Montgomery has their next Brewing the Faith on Monday, October 8. DCE announces... Integrated Family Catechesis Workshops with Dr. JoAnn Paradise Our school and parish programs are wonderful. We have marvelous teachers, catechists and YM core members who work relessly to help form our children and youth in the faith. However, if faith isn t happening in the home, there is a good chance that our kids won t stay Catholic. Our Sunday Visitor is sponsoring Dr. Paradise workshops here in the archdiocese. Dr. Paradise will travel to both Mobile and Montgomery to give two different presenta ons in each loca on.
