Broadway Believer O CTOBER 2012 Notes from Pastor Tony: Greetings! Wow, where has summer gone. Praying that each of you have enjoyed these months and are revved up for this fall. We are excited about the Big Heritage Day and 70 th Anniversary of Broadway Baptist Church. On Sunday, November 4 th, BBC will have a grand and glorious day. INSIDE THIS ISSUE: BBC Car Show 2 Baby Shower 2 Student Ministry 3 Memorials 4 The day will begin with a light breakfast in the fellowship hall and a joint worship including all students through adults SS classes. Dr. Joe Wren will be preaching at the 9:00 am service. At the 10:15 service, Dr. Bob Brown will be speaking and Richard Bonds will be leading worship. During this service, we will also be celebrating 70 years of ministry with a slide show and a note burning on the church s debt! Heritage Day 5 Calendar 6 Following the morning worship we will gather in the fellowship hall and have a covered dish meal. Around 1:00 we will reassemble in the sanctuary for an afternoon service, Dr. Chris Burns will be preaching and Vic Fulford will be leading the music. It is going to be a great day! Invite friends and family to come celebrate with us a BBC. We have invitations printed and available for your use. Send as many as you please, it would be great for some former members and inactive member to receive multiple invites in the mail. So people will know that we desire for them to worship with us! WITH OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD! National Collection Week is November 12-19 Operation Christmas Child demonstrates God s love to hurting children in a tangible way by partnering the churches worldwide to deliver gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of Jesus Christ. We will be collecting the shoe boxes from September 16 November 4, 2012. Boxes will be placed in the Preschool Area, at the Sunday School Desk and in the hallway outside the Sanctuary. Let s get started early on our Christmas shopping and pack some shoe boxes.

Tuesday, October 30, 2012 6:30-8:30 p.m. This year s Fall Festival is right around the corner, and we are excited to see the direction God is taking it. There will be games, food, bounce houses, dunking booth, outreach, and a Gospel presentation! If you are interested in serving at the festival, please contact John Yorio or Nelson Chapman for more details. Beginning October 1st, the following men who were affirmed by a vote of the body will begin serving a three year term as an active deacon: Larry Alexander (will be ordained on October 14th), Jeff Long, Charlie Miller, Greg Newman, Josh Wheatley and Vernon Wilson. Pray for these men and the other deacons who continue to serve out their term. May God grant wisdom, patience and strength to those that serve among the body of believers at BBC. Churchwide Baby Shower Let s welcome little Ethan Stover, son of Rick & Shanna Stover on Sunday evening October 21 st at 6:00 p.m. They are registered at Target, gift cards and small items are appreciated. Rick will also be giving a missions report. Everyone is asked to bring their favorite finger foods.
