L: Though we differ in language, custom, and tradition P: We are brothers and sisters in Christ! L: For there is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism P: We are one in God's Spirit! L: We are one and together we remember our Lord Jesus P: For we are the people of Redemption! L: He gave himself up for us, so we could be reconciled to God. P: Come, let us worship the God of our Salvation! *Prayer of Invocation (offered by all) O, Lord, our redeemer: as we are drawn to this place, and at this hour, may your Spirit abide with us, and may you find a home among us. Call us to new hope, and give us eyes to see the coming of your kingdom. When we receive the bread and wine today, call to mind our sisters and brothers throughout the whole wide earth. Empower us to work for justice and peace so that, by your grace and with our efforts, all may one day experience shalom. Amen. 2

The Sacrament of Holy Communion Invitation to the Table (Responsively) L: In the silence of the morning, as the new day dawned around the world, P: God s people began to gather for worship amid the sounds of drums or pipes, strings or organs. L: And now we, too, join in this worldwide chorus of those who call upon the name of the Lord. P: On this World Communion Sunday, we remember that the Scriptures are fulfilled as People will come from east and west, and from north and south, and sit at the table in the kingdom of God. Words of Institution Sanctus Holy, Holy, Holy #793 Distribution of the Elements (Communion will be served in the pews. Please take each element as it is passed to you and wait for all others to be served. The pastor will indicate when to receive the given element. Gluten free bread is in the center dish of the bread trays for any who have allergies or health concerns). Post Communion Prayer (Offered by All) Gracious God, you have made us one with all your people in heaven and on earth. You have fed us with the bread of life and renewed us for your service. God of peace, may this meal, shared in the Spirit with your son Jesus, strengthen us, your people, to engage in peacemaking, to call for restraint, to plead for diplomacy, to urge the use of international law, to halt the endless, downward spiral of violence in all places. Strengthen us, your people, to raise our voices and to act. Amen. *Recessional Hymn There Are Some Things I May Not Know #405 *Benediction Postlude Toccata in F Dieterick Butehude 4
