Dedicating Four Church Plants It was a great moment in a very inspirational weekend January 16-18, 2015-- the convocation weekend to officially launch the events of 2015. Impact Edmonton 2015 Convocation weekend included the introduction and dedication prayer for four new church plants in the Edmonton area. Two plants had already started-- Fort Saskatchewan and Edmonton Ghanaian and the other two in South Edmonton were to start by the end of January. As we work with Christ in preparing for His return, we can understand His heartbeat of desire to see His witness expanded to new places and new people. The following pictures reveal that it is happening in the Edmonton area. Photo by Jonathan Shim Above is a dynamic moment on Sabbath, January 17 at the Edmonton Impact Convocation when four new church groups were dedicated in prayer. Conference personnel leading in this dedication were Ken and Vera Wiebe, Larry and Janet Hall and Don and Phyllis Corkum. Although it is not easy to see in the above picture, representatives of these four groups stand at the front of the church for the dedication prayer. The Abundant Life church plant in Southwest Edmonton is off to a great start. They have a lovely church to meet in each Sabbath renting from another denomination. As the picture demonstrates they have a lot of young people and young families. It is encouraging to see the witness of our church being established in parts of Edmonton where no Adventist Church presence has yet been established. Please keep this church plant in your prayers as it engages in a mission for God.

Fort Saskatchewan Fellowship Group There has been a desire to see an Adventist presence in the city of Fort Saskatchewan. That dream is now a reality as Sabbath Services are taking place along with ministry throughout the week. The picture to the left shows members of the Fellowship Group along with visiting Bible workers. However, on this day many of the regular worshippers were away. Pastor Darrell Beaudoin says, We will soon be realizing our church capacity of seventy people. What a wonderful problem to have. The Edmonton Ghanaian church plant is growing. Plans are underway to organize them into a company. This Fellowship Group has good leadership and seeks to reach out for Christ in the community especially to the Ghanaian community in Edmonton. Teamwork is evident in the city of Edmonton with the Filipino Church being the parent church of this fellowship group. Pictured to the right are members of the Ghanaian Fellowship Group with Pastor Ron Yabut of the Edmonton Filipino Church and Don Corkum, Conference Church Planting Coordinator. Christ The Way Church Plant is off to a great start. To the left a few of the members of this new plant gather for prayer at the January convocation along with their pastor, John Murley. In our two large cities the Adventist presence has not grown with the city. Large sections of the city have no Adventist presence. That is changing in Edmonton and plans are underway to expand the work in Calgary as well. This new group in Edmonton South east will be a base for ministry to a new section of Edmonton. The critical times we are living in, demands that we must work with passion and creativity to help people know Jesus before He returns.

It was a dynamic day with members from all Calgary churches gathering to worship at the Red and White Center near the University of Calgary. The purpose of the weekend was to launch Reach Calgary 2016 evangelistic outreach. This emphasis will include one year of praying, planning and implementing many seminars and outreach activities then a full message evangelistic series. In order to have success, members of the Calgary churches felt they needed to be one team united to touch everyone for Jesus in Calgary. We hope many people will find the Lord as a result of the series; and new churches will be organized. Calgary Convocation February 20-21, 2015 The main presenter for the convocation was Chris Holland, Speaker/Director for It is Written Canada. He outlined the spiritual foundation for our year s outreach. Using the book of Acts, he said that before we go to fulfill the gospel commission we need to come to Christ for spiritual renewal. Then we need to wait on the Lord as the disciples did in the upper room so they were in one accord. Then we need to be witnesses for Christ. Witnesses are not only defined by what they do but who they are people passionate about the mission for Christ. Many different programs and strategies for Christ were discussed as to how we can make Reach Calgary 2016 successful. Music was an important part of the convocation weekend. Many expressed what a joy it was to hear the singing from other churches. To the right members of the Calgary Ghanaian Company provide special music at the Sabbath afternoon concert. We need to do this more often was the statement heard frequently. Certainly singing together unites our hearts and hopes as Seventh-day Adventist Christians.

Radio Bible Light Your spiritual friend How would you like to witness to people in Russia, China, Algeria, Germany, and Nigeria without leaving your living room? Radio Bible Light is an internet-radio ministry that airs each Friday night from 6 to 7 pm MST and reaches up to one hundred people worldwide every week. Radio Bible Light is currently looking for pastors to volunteer as guest speakers in the upcoming year. The time commitment is minimal, but the impact is immeasurable as God has richly blessed this ministry. Our live broadcasts discuss Christian values and practices. While the radio is Adventist-owned and operated, it targets the wider Christian audience. Usually the guest speaker presents his/her topic for 20-30 minutes then we discuss questions submitted by our viewers. Please visit our site www.radiobiblelight.com to check the archive of our broadcasts. We believe that many speakers led by the Holy Ghost will respond. That s why we are ready to expand our live broadcast every other hour after 7 pm until 10 pm MST each Friday. To check the schedule for availability, please visit: Events Calendar. To book a day, please use the How to book section at the left side of the Events Calendar. Please note that you can be a guest at our studio or connect with us through Skype. For more information or to share an outline of your presentation, please contact us at office@radiobiblelight.com Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?
