We look forward to welcoming you! www.shshampton.org 603-926-3254 Save the date: OLMM Parish Mission Have you ever gone away on a retreat? Many have and they usually rave about how relaxed and peaceful they felt when it was over. Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish will be offering a retreat experience of our own that will take place at OLMM Church from Monday, May 7 th to Wednesday, May 9th from 7-8pm. It will be led by Fr. Kevin MacDonald, C.Ss.R., a Redemptorist missionary ordained in 1991. Prior to entering the seminary, Fr. Kevin attended Boston College, and after graduation played 7 years of professional baseball with the Pittsburg Pirates organization. This retreat, more commonly called a Parish Mission, will be centered upon God's mercy. We need to give our stressful lives a break. The bills will still be there when we return home. Our worries can be picked up at the door on the way out, if we so choose. But, hopefully, these evenings will help us to surrender a lot of our worries and concerns into the capable hands of God. Is this retreat for the spiritually mature? Absolutely. Is it for harried parents and teens? Definitely. Is it for the newly retired and those who are searching for employment? Yes and yes. You get the drift? This retreat is for everyone who believes that God has something important to communicate with us. We will hopefully begin to develop habits of listening that will strengthen our relationship with God and others in the future. The parish will also be offering a special Mission Mass on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings at 9am as well as a closing Mass for the retreat on Wednesday evening. Confessions will be available during the week, especially on Tuesday evening when extra confessors will be present. Be sure to spread the word. Reach out to people who are struggling. This retreat experience is for everyone and they need not be Catholic to enjoy it. God wants to work a miracle in our lives. All we need to do is show up. 3

The Third Sunday of Easter - April 15, 2018 Paschal Candle Memorials In Memory of David L. Hopkins, Sr. In Memory of Robert E. Drake and Violette J. Drake from their family In Memory of Anne Nelson In Memory of Margie & Charlie Zappala In Memory of Raymond Alie by Sheila In Memory of Martha McDermott by Sheila In Remembrance of all deceased members of the Rikeman, Adams, Ciccarelli & Gostanian Families In Memory of Mildred Fernandez In Memory of the McMonigle Family In Memory of the Brown Family In Memory of the Janvrin Family In Memory of Arline Felch In Memory of JoyceLee McAteer In Memory of David Cady In Memory of the Greaney Family In Memory of Grace Dehetre In Memory of Marie Stefan In Memory of Richard Sicard In Memory of Bernard Bush At our Easter Vigil, we welcomed into the Catholic Church, four candidates; Kristofer Gillette, Monica Muldoon, Courtney Streeter and Jay Wolterbeek. Surrounded by family, friends and our parish community, they were confirmed by Fr. Gary and received their first Eucharist; a joyous celebration of life- long faith formation for all! Transformed, strengthened and sent forth by the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist, our newlyreceived Catholics enter into mystagogy; which is a lifelong journey of growing closer to God and deepening their understanding and practice of the faith. They now enter into full participation in the Mass; no longer dismissed after the Liturgy of the Word; they are called to grow more deeply in their understanding of the paschal mystery and make it part of their lives. Mystagogy is a process of growing into the faith by praying, learning and practicing with believers; discerning how to use their gifts to strengthen the Body of Christ. Please continue to keep Kris, Monica, Courtney, Jay and their families in your prayers. Our Lady's Sodality will be holding their next meeting on Monday, April 16th at 12:30pm in the St. Catherine Laboure Room. SVDP will have their next General Meeting on Saturday, April 21st in the Marian Hall at 10:30am. ATTENTION PARISHIONERS: WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS TO BRING THE COMMUNION GIFTS TO THE ALTAR AT EACH MASS. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE SPEAK TO ONE OF THE USHERS BEFORE MASS. THANK YOU. 5

Ushers Needed OLMM Parish is looking for Usher volunteers for the 9am Mass on Sunday mornings. Ushers are responsible for supervising the collections of donations by parishioners. An additional responsibility is to find individuals to bring the gifts to the altar after the collection each Sunday. Ushers can be male or female, must be registered in our OLMM Parish, and be at least 16 years of age (if an adult is present). Please contact Leo Filteau at lfilteau@comcast.net if you are interested in adding your name to this Parish Ministry roster. Spiritual Direction available for women of the parish. Do you have the desire to grow in your relationship and intimacy with God and to learn how to pay attention to God s personal communication with you? Does growing in prayer stir your heart? If this interests you, please contact Nancjio Wolter at nancijow@gmail.com who is a certified Spiritual Director to discuss the process of Spiritual Direction and how it may help you realize these desires. The Third Sunday of Easter - April 15, 2018 Below are just a couple of the CD titles available in our Lighthouse Media Collection: The Forgotten Virtue: Pathway to Holiness God opposes the proud but bestows favor on the humble. (1 Peter 5:5) In this revealing talk, Fr. Casey shares how wisdom and blessings come through a healthy cultivation of the virtue of humility, and he equips us to be vigilant in avoiding that often subtle temptation and danger to the soul, which is pride. He shows how humility allows us to see things, and ourselves, as they truly are, and how pride makes us prone to serious mistakes, both in our spiritual and practical lives. At the end of this presentation is a bonus segment from Confession by Fr. Larry Richards. Praying the Rosary Like Never Before Dr. Edward Sri is a nationally sought Catholic speaker who appears regularly on EWTN, and is a founding leader of FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students). In this discussion of his book "The New Rosary in Scripture: Biblical Insights on Praying the Twenty Mysteries" (Servant Books), Dr. Sri shares John Paul II's practical strategies for praying the Rosary better, so that you can encounter Jesus more deeply in prayer. We kindly ask for a donation of $4.00 per book (or otherwise specified suggested donation), $3.00 per CD, $2.00 per booklet and $0.50 per pamphlet so that we may continue this program. Please make all checks out to OLMM. Won t you reach out and help bring someone home? 6 SAVE THE DATE Knights of Colmbus #5093 are hosting their 2nd Annual Back to the 50s Sock Hop on Saturday, May 5th from 6-10pm.
