Children s Ministries Our Children s Ministry programs are designed to help form and support the spiritual values that are a critical element in the moral reasoning and character development of a child. We endeavor to treat each child with love, while presenting strong, Christ- centered programs and Biblical curriculum. Children s Church Offers children an age- appropriate time to worship God and learn about worship. During Sunday morning worship, we start out together, as a church family, then, during the sermon time, children may depart for Children s Church. Three groups meet, one for 3yr olds through Kindergarten, one for 1 st - 2 nd grades, and one 3 rd - 5 th grades. Contact Jen Arvidson Nursery Nursery & toddler rooms provide a place during Sunday morning activities where young children can play or sleep, enabling families to concentrate on their worship. Contact Jen Arvidson Kids in Community (KiC) Kids in Community is a high energy, fun- filled program that helps kids build healthy relationships with caring Christian adults, peers, and most importantly, Jesus Christ. The program is Christ- centered, Bible- based, and kid- focused. Meetings are held every Sunday evening from 5:30-7:00 p.m. during the school year. Contact Jen Arvidson! Pre- teen KiC (4 th /5 th Grade) Kids will be exploring their faith and life together in a fun, energetic, and exciting setting. Games will be a feature each Sunday. Kids will learn answers to the tough questions preteens face about God, themselves, and others.! Elementary KiC (Ages 4yrs - 3rd Grade) It's like having VBS every Sunday with upbeat, high- energy Bible learning, fun & interactive worship, cool games, skits, crafts and experiments giving unique ways to explore the Bible hands on! Kids will spend their time doing the Bible lesson, not just listening to it. Vacation Bible School VBS is a blast! It is a week- long program held each summer. It includes skits, crafts, games, and Bible stories. It is open to the whole community. Meets for a week, usually in July, 9:00am to 12 noon. Contact Jen Arvidson 3

Youth Ministries We believe our youth are not the church of tomorrow, they are the church of today! We seek to integrate Junior High and Senior High into the life of the church, forming real relationships between students and adults, and encouraging radical commitments to a Christian lifestyle. Take a look at our dedicated youth webpage: mccyouth.com Youth Group Called Sunday Night Live, we have tons of fun - and = food - when we get together. You ll play Lame Games, meet friends, and learn how the Bible relates to our life. Our prayer is that students grow in their knowledge of and relationship with the Lord. We gather as a large group each Sunday evening for fun, fellowship and some deep conversations. Our students love spending time together and this is an ideal time to invite friends to join in the fun. Contact Adam Bridges Junior High Sundays 5:30pm to 7:00 pm. Senior High Sundays 7:00pm to 8:30 pm Small Group Bible Studies Called Powerhouse, we offer weekly, gender- specific small group studies for both junior and senior high school students. Going Deep Flag Football Flag football game, with great half- time snacks and a devotion from God s Word. Meets Sunday afternoons, 1:00pm- 3:00pm, mid- September through Christmas, at the McGovern field. Contact Adam Bridges Summer Missions Trip Each summer, our youth spend a week serving God in tangible ministries. The locations vary on a three year rotation: local (like Boston or NYC), domestic (like West Virginia or San Franscisco) and international (like Guatemala and Jamaica). The type of ministry also varies, from teaching to construction to summer camps and street evangelism. Summer Missions is an incredible opportunity for our youth to be personally impacted as they learn more about what it means to do God s work in God s world. Contact Adam Bridges 4

MCC Leadership The leadership structure of our church can be most easily articulated as elder led, staff driven, and congregationally accountable. Elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Acts 20:28-31) The Board of Elders oversees the ministry and life of the church, develops goals for the church, ensures doctrinal integrity, and is responsible for the spiritual health and welfare of the congregation. They also provide spiritual counsel as needed. The Board of Elders is composed of the pastoral team, plus elected lay members of the church.! Our Elders are Ken Reever, Chris Williams, Bill Marshall, Scott Greenwald, Burton Wright, Eric May, Pastor Carl, and Pastor Travis Deacons (1 Timothy 3:8-13; Acts 6:1-7) The Board of Deacons cares for the needy, the sick, the sorrowing, and the stranger in our church and community. They collect and distribute money from the Deacon s fund to assist those in urgent or temporary need. And they assist in many other ways around the church.! Our Deacons are Cheryl Barese, Bridget Greenwald, Michael Hill, Marlis Morse, Jeannie King, Nancy Vinton, Dan Jordan, Drew Garvin, and Joe Sullivan Staff (Acts 6:3-4, 1 Corinthians 9:7-9) The full- time and part- time ministry staff are given the responsibility and authority to direct ministry, encourage the disconnected, and train volunteers. The staff meets together each Wednesday and is accountable both to one another and the board of elders. (Acts 6:3-4, 1 Cor 9:7-9) Our staff is:! Our staff members are Travis Bond, Carl Schultz, Robin Fox, Adam Bridges, Cathy Taylor, Jen Arvidson, and Jo- Anne Platt 11
