It is an honor and privilege to lead our organization which has grown to an impressive 500+ families in NWI. We would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you for giving us the opportunity to serve. Whenever we take the time to reflect on the aspects of our community that best define the reasons for our internal and external successes, the first and most important of these characteristics that come to mind are our Members. We urge each and every one to become a member to make our organization stronger so we can execute on united philosophies and strategies. As we take upon our roles to lead IACC, we are confident that we can make our organization better in the following novel ways: We would like to create a transparent organization where roles are clearly outlined and defined We would like to expand our reach to encourage not only membership but active participation amongst our youths, seniors and families Strengthening the finances to increase revenue, cut costs and make our center debt free. And more importantly we would like to make the finances transparent and open to the community Our fundraising gala this year entitled 100 Years of Bollywood is on March 29. We encourage all of you to participate in this gala in whatever capacity you can. This newsletter contains very important information about all the upcoming events and festivals for 2014. In an effort to cut costs and be ecofriendly all the information communicated by the board will be available on the website (http://www.bharatiyatemple-nwindiana.org), weekly E blast and at the temple. We would like to build on a foundation based on our core values of: Ethics, Passion, Integrity, Quality and Respect. As leaders of our team we encourage constant feedback on how we can strengthen IACC as a model community where each member s voice will be heard. We would like to thank our past Chairman Mr. Om Mandhana and past president Mrs. Anjali Joshi for their hard work, commitment and guidance. We would also like to thank all of our retiring board members for their service. And finally a very big THANK YOU to the Indian Medical Association under the helm of past president Dr. Arvind Gandhi for their generous donation. I thank GOD to give me opportunity to serve on this committee. Our temple is running smoothly with dedicated services of our Priest Vashisthaji and with the help of volunteers. My humble request to each and everyone of you is to take this opportunity to offer your seva to our temple. We need you to participate and support our temple activities. Our temple Priest Vasishtaji is very well versed and can do any kind of special poojas in our temple as well as in your home. Page 6 12TH ANNUAL GALA FUNDRAISER, MARCH 29, 2014, Dear Friends, The NWIHRC Annual Gala will be hosted on March 29, 2014 at the Halls of St. George, Schererville, Indiana. The theme for this year is 100 year of Bollywood, depicting the history of Indian cinema, popularity known as Bollywood. We will showcase a cultural program showing a blend of different styles of dance from the Bollywood. We will have a Live and Silent Auctioin this year. We would like to solicit items for live and Silent Auctions from businesses of your choice: Following are some suggested categories that have generated lively bidding in the past: Day Spas / Beauty Salons - Restuarants - Floriests Gift Shops / Retain Stores / Jewelry Stores Tickets to Sporting Events / Holiday Packages If you own a business or a services please consider offering merchandise or a gift certificate from your business. Any contributions of $50, $100 and more towards the Live and Silent Auction will be really apreciated.
