It is important that team members be believers who understand and acknowledge the essentials of our faith as described in scripture and be committed to absolute biblical truth. Please carefully read the following Statement of Beliefs and then mark below to state your agreement with it. We believe and profess our faith in one Truine God - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19) We believe and profess that Jesus Christ is the only Savior and is God in the flesh. (John 1:1, John 1:14, John 3:36, John 14:6, Hebrew 2:17) We believe and profess that the Holy Spirit is God, and is the Lord and Giver of Life who continues to work today in believers to sanctify, edify, and empower the whole Christian church on earth for His purposes. (Acts 1:8, John 14:26, Romans 8:11, Job 33:4) We believe and profess that the Holy Scriptures are the inspired and completely true Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) We believe and profess that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, that forgiveness of sins is received through confession and repentance, and that our sins are washed away through the blood of Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:23, Acts 2:38, John 1:9) We believe and profess that salvation is a gift of God's grace received through personal faith in Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8) We believe and profess that the Body of Christ is to make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God. (Ephesians 4:3, Ephesians 4:13) We believe and profess that God's unconditional love, as made manifest to us through Jesus Christ, is the primary witness by which people are renewed, edified, and changed. (1 Corinthians 13:8) We believe and profess that God has called us to live holy lives that will bring glory to His name. (Colossians 3:1-25) I have read the Statement of Beliefs and agree with it. It is important that team members be aiming for a life of obedience to God, the result and proof of genuine faith. There are a number of moral issues that we believe are especially relevant in our society today. Our stance on these issues must come from scripture, not the world, and our words and behaviors regarding them should set a godly example. Please carefully consider and mark each of the following to state your agreement with it and your aim to live by it. Godly people do not drink to drunkenness or take part in wild parties. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:19-21) Godly people do not have sex or engage in sexual activities before or outside of marriage. (Genesis 2:24, 1 Corinthians 7:8-9, Hebrews 13:4) Godly people acknowledge that marriage is a commitment for life between one man and one woman, which reflects Christ's relationship with the church. (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:22-33) Godly people do not engage in homosexual acts, enter homosexual relationships, or otherwise practice homosexuality despite any tendencies they may have. (Romans 1:24-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9, 1 Timothy 1:9-10) Godly people acknowledge that we are created and born either male or female and that a denial of our given sex and gender or an attempt to change it desecrates the image of God. (Genesis 1:27) Godly people acknowledge our duty to love people as God has loved us, but also that authentic love is based on biblical truth and does not condone or justify any wrongful ways of the world. (John 13:34-35, John 3:16, Luke 6:27, 1 John 2:15-16, 1 Corinthians 13:4-6) Godly people choose their words carefully, watch their mouth, refrain from vulgar language and crude jokes, and speak truth that builds others up. (Proverbs 29:20, Proverbs 13:3, James 3:2-10, James 1:26, Ephesians 5:4, Ephesians 4:29) Godly people obey their parents as children and honor their parents as adults. (Colossians 3:20, Proverbs 1:8, Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:1-3) Godly people are good citizens who respect authority and law. (Romans 13:1-7) Page 2 of 5
