MUSIC FINANCE AND STEWARDSHIP Bell Ringers and Joyful Singers Welcome back to active service! Weekly rehearsals for bell choir at 6:15 pm Wednesdays, and singers show up at 7:30 also Wednesdays. Vacation is over, folks, and it is time to start preparing for Christmas, and the other great feasts preceding it. We want to make beautiful music to celebrate All Saints, Reformation Sunday, Christ the King, and the special season of Advent, as well as all the other Celebrations of the Lord's Day. You are needed! So, please come join us on Wednesdays to continue and expand the tradition of choral music and bell choir at Seffner P r e s b y t e r i a n. N e w c o m e r s are more than welcome and faithful veterans are dearly cherished by Betty Lou and Sheila. As to musicians hiding in the pews, we beg you to come forward and share your talents. MISSION IN ACTION Bikes for Jesus Birthday The September offering emphasis is looking ahead to Bikes for Jesus Birthday. Bikes will be given to youth in foster care and Beth-El Mission in Wimauma. Mark your calendar to help assemble bikes on Saturday, December 10th, Dedication of the Bikes on Sunday, December 11th and begin delivery of bike the following week. LOOKING AHEAD... On OCTOBER 14 & 15 a church wide yard sale will be held to help fund 5th Saturday serve Missions. Bring all your unwanted, slightly used items to church, some storage will be available for boxed items. Larger items can be dropped off AFTER Wednesday, October 12th. We need people to help set up the sale and price items, as well as people to help sell items Friday and Saturday. Anyone interested in helping, please contact Deb Thatcher (240-1751), Jeanette Sampson (910-391-2249), or Janet Holzman (681-2548). The Kairos Prison Ministry We need outside support, such as in the form of kitchen help and many other logistical help during the course of the weekend event, which will take place on the 3rd weekend in September. Collection bins for prepackaged cookies and salted snacks will be found in both the narthex and the fellowship hall. All donations of checks can be made through the office or made out to Kairos P.M.I. Thank you for taking part in this vital mission as 75% of its graduates do not return to prison after their release. For more information please contact Greg Uebel at 758-4855. NEED ASSISTANCE? Be sure to give us a 24 hour notice. 5TH SATURDAY SERVE We had a wonderful time swimming and cooking out with the Family Promise group. Thanks to Trish Hudson for securing the pool area. We also collected $130 to give the families to help buy school uniforms and school supplies. Our next 5th Saturday Serve will be OCTOBER 29th. Trunk or Treat!
