Happy Sunday, Team Grace! From Father Kirby What an adventure we had this past week! We had some painting done to the interior of our building, celebrated All Saints and All Souls, observed the First Friday of the Sacred Heart, and we celebrated our monthly Healing. Additionally, our middle school students attended their annual diocesan rally and we hosted a talk by Doctor Carrie Gress on how to welcome loved ones back to the Church. And this weekend, we have the Indian Land Festival. And so much more! This is how we roll! No pun intended (in light of our location to the railway) but this train runs fast! Thanks be to God! Since my Installation Ceremony, I ve been slowly going through the various cards and messages. I m humbled and grateful for the abundant support and assurances of prayer! Thank you to everyone! In terms of financial gifts, some have asked about the burse that was being collected toward my academic debt. In a spirit of transparency, the burse collected around $7,000. There was an additional $5,000 given through a wide range of individual gifts during the reception. I m very appreciative for these financial gifts and the kindness they express. All of these funds were applied to my current academic debt. Thank you! With the ceremony concluded, our work moves forward. And as described above, we have a lot of work to do! Some updates from around the parish: Last weekend, I preached about spending time with the Bible. Please find in this bulletin, a list of the 14 narrative books of salvation history. As announced at the es, we are very pleased to hear the news that Molly Rusciolelli, our Parish Organist, has been chosen to enter the postulancy of the Franciscan Daughters of Mary! Postulancy is the first step a woman takes to become a Religious Sister. The Order Molly will be entering is devoted to ministering to unwed mothers and children. Molly will enter the convent on January 1. Until then, she will continue to serve our music ministry here at the parish. As her departure gets closer, we ll organize a reception for Molly. I look forward to my quarterly gathering this afternoon with the various leaders of our parish. It s always good to be with them! This weekend, we are giving out a children s version of the preparation for Marian consecration. These are meant to help families to make the preparation together. As a reminder, the 33-day preparation starts tomorrow (November 5.) More updates next week. Let s pray for one another! Father Jeffrey Kirby Twitter/fatherkirby frkirby@gracewepray.org
