1 Mount Nebo Baptist Church Records Following are the member roll records taken at various times in the history of the Mount Nebo Baptist Church. Every attempt was taken to insure the accuracy of the transcribed records. But, obviously there will be errors as the records are sometimes faded and the handwriting was not always legible. If you know of an error, please contact us and we will adjust this record James F. Thoma Mount Nebo Baptist Roll Records for 1849 This roll appears to have been taken in The original roll separated members by 1) males, 2) females, and 3) colored males, and 4) colored females. In this compilation I have combined the three rolls in order to keep the list alphabetized. But to keep some of the original flavor of the rolls, white men are denoted in "normal black type", white women are denoted in "italicized blue type", colored men are denoted in "normal pink type" and colored women are denoted in "italicized red type". By in large this record is very legible for its' age. Name Comments Bell, Elijah Bell, Susan M. Biel, Susan Birk, Nancy Birk, Samuel Bouleware, Matilda Briley, Jamiah J. In this compilation I have combined the three rolls in order to keep the list alphabetized. But to keep some of the original flavor of the rolls, men are denoted in "normal black type", women are denoted in "italicized blue type" and colored people are denoted in "normal red type". By in large this record is very legible. The record for colored people is less legible. The first couple of colored entries have the wording "belonging to" spelled out and are quite legible. As the roll progresses the words "belonging to" are replaced by ditto ( " ) marks and the writing becomes fainter until the point is reached as to there is a question as to whether the ditto marks still exists. It is quite possible that a number were free blacks rather than slaves. Allison, Mary J. Died in 1864 Bonnum, Jerome Boulware, Harriet G. Boulware, Lucinda F.
