Due to the recent flooding and clean-up efforts that our communities are dealing with, HTLC is postponing the Thrift Sale until further notice. We DO plan to have one but a date has not been set as yet; though one will be selected soon. Because of the postponement of our annual Thrift Sale, we will no longer be accepting donations; A drop-off timeline will be communicated once a date is set. Please hold your donations at home in the meantime, or you may donate them to another charitable cause in our community. Thank you for your patience.

5 On June 17, 2018 our area experienced something it hadn t experienced in a very long time, if ever. Something the media outlets were deeming as a historic event, calling it the "1000-year flood. Though others have been referring to it as the Father s Day flood due to the day it occurred. No matter what you call it one thing is certain, it was frightening and destructive. Many homes and roads were damaged, and a life was lost! BUT GOD! Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity? (Words spoken in the second chapter of Job, verse 10). Though this storm showed a fierceness most of us have never seen before, another kind of flood emerged. The flood of kindness. The flood of unity. The flood of neighborly love. but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses. 2Corinthians 6:4 in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love. 2 Corinthians 6:6 Adam Johnson Brockit Inc. I can t help but sit and ponder on the destruction, AND life that water brings. I can t help but sit and ponder on the power, AND beauty of God! Baptism of Greyson, Mark & Ann Roth s grandson Julie Judson

6 A Call Committee has been established! The privilege of being God s hands and feet in the processes of finding a pastor to shepherd the flock at HTLC are: Rhys Edwards, June Haataja, Nicki Lassila, Monica Markham, Mary Pekkala, and Sue Vollmar Remember to thank the new Call Committee for taking on this great task, as well has, hold them up in prayer during the process of finding a permanent Pastor for HTLC. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass. 1Thessalonians 5:24. Ken and Carole Simila would like to thank you! For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; ~Jesus (Matthew 25:35) On behalf of the World Hunger Committee, we would like to thank the generous donors at HTLC. This year we collected $ towards World Hunger and this was added to the grand total at the Synod Assembly. The total this year was $41, These monies will be used to help the needy in countries all over the world including the United States. Again, thank you very much. ~ Ken and Carole Simila, World Hunger Committee.
