2 As we celebrate the 150 th Anniversary of our beloved Second Mount Zion Baptist Church, we are inclined to express how honored we are to be appointed by God to serve as Pastor and First Lady of such a God fearing, faithful, loving and caring church family. As we embark upon this new year, may we all take the time to reflect upon the many good things that God has done and continues to do in our lives. Understand that we should always keep God first in everything that we do and He will continue to direct our paths. In addition, as we enter into this new year know that God desires to spend time with his children. So going forward, consider making it a part of your daily life to do the following:, Thank God for His goodness Meditate on God s word Pray to God for direction Stand firm in your Faith We love you Second Mount Zion and we look forward to all of the great things that God has planned for. The Second Mount Zion Baptist Church, Caroline County, Virginia, was organized in 66 in a brush arbor under the leadership of the Rev. Willliam H. Stephen. The church had a membership of 264 members.. After serving in a brush arbor for a short time, a log church was built. As the history continues to be made at Second Mount Zion, we pray that God will lead us in the future as he has in the past.
