The following pages contain a brief biographical history of the person, or persons, who created or collected these papers, followed by a general description of the collection in the scope and content note. If more detailed information is warranted then series descriptions also appear. The container listing appears last and is the listing of material in each box, or container, of this collection. When your request sheet is complete, or full, bring it to the archivist and the material will be retrieved. Biographical Note Darrell L. Reeck (1939- ), American ethics scholar, university administrator and ordained United Methodist minister, was born in Tacoma, Washington, in In 1962, the Pacific Northwest Annual Conference, Methodist Church, accepted him as candidate for ordination. He was later ordained an elder by the same annual conference in After completing his doctoral studies in Religious Studies with a focus on Ethics from Boston University he joined the faculty at University of Puget Sound and would become an assistant dean during his tenure. Reeck also worked as a money manager for the United Methodist Development Fund as well as other financial institutions. He finished his career in United Methodist ministry and retired in Scope and Content Note This accession contains the typed transcripts of interviews and conversations concerning the history of social change in Kori and Bumpe Chiefdoms in Sierra Leone. There are 148 total interviews, but several individuals gave more than one interview. The manuscript is 902 pages in length. The data presented here was used in the preparation of a 1970 Ph.D. dissertation written at Boston University entitled, "A Sociohistorical Analysis of Modernization and Related Mission Influences in Two Chiefdoms in West Africa, Arrangement Material has been arranged in the following manner.
