1 BEAR CREEK CEMETERY Adair County, Missouri Bear Creek Church was organized in by Rev. Talbot Hight. Original members were: Mr. And Mrs. W. T. Barnes, Eliza and Nancy Hibbard, and Nancy Myers. Later Collets, Hustons, Lloyds, Willises, Ashers, and Conners were members. It is the oldest Baptist society in Adair County and is marked as the oldest church with a large boulder on which is a bronze marker by the Business Womens Missionary Society of the First Baptist Church of Kirksville. The cemetery is along side of the church, south of and east of the church. Bear Creek Church and Cemetery are located 3 miles north and west of Kirksville on R B, about 3-4 miles, on the south side of the road. Rows begin on the west side.
