1 Deity of the Part II Just as the Bible contains Scripture to prove the Deity of Christ, it also contains Scripture that proves the Deity of the Holy Spirit as well. The following Scriptures show us the similarities between each person of the Triune Godhead. 1. All three present in creation. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. ~Genesis 1:1 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. -John 1:3 The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. -Job 33:4 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. -Psalm 104:30 2. All three raised Jesus from the dead. And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. -1 Corinthians 6:14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body. -John 2:19-22 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. -Romans 8:11 3. Truth Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth. -Psalm 31:5 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. -John 14:6 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. -John 14:17

2 4. Everlasting life is given by all three. Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life. -Romans 2:6-7 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. -John 6:40 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. -Galatians 6:8 5. Omnipresent (the power to be in all places at the same time) Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord. -Jeremiah 23:24 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. -Ephesians 1:23 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? -Psalms 139:7 6. Omniscient or all-knowing For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.~-1 John 3:20 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. -John 21:17 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. -1 Corinthians 2:10-11

Holy Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy. -Leviticus 19:2 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you. -Acts 3:14 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? -Luke 11:13 8. All included in prayer. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. ~Philippians 4:6 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. -John 14:14 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. ~Jude 1:20 9.Everlasting/Eternal But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith. -Romans 16:26 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. -Micah 5:2 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? -Hebrews 9:14

Teacher Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. -Isaiah 48:17 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. -Matthew 4:23 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. -John 14: We are sanctified (or set apart) by all three. Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you. -Exodus 31:13 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. -Hebrews 13:12 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. -1 Peter 1:2 12. All three speak to or through us. God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets. -Hebrews 1:1 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you. -2 Corinthians 13:3 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. -Mark 13:11

5 13. They supply helpers to God's people and congregation. And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. -Jeremiah 3:15 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers. -Ephesians 4:11 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. -Acts 20: Peace is found in all three. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. - 1 Corinthians 14:33 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. -John 14:27 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. -Romans 14: Grace in all three. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. -1 Corinthians 15:10 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. -Acts 15:11 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? -Hebrews 10:29

6 16. All three called God. Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. -Isaiah 12:2 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. -John 20:28 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. -Acts 5: Our Life That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. -Deuteronomy 30:20 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. -John 14:6 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. ~Romans 8: Our Comfort Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. -2 Corinthians 1:3-4 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. -John 14:18 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me. -John 15:26

7 19. Our Strength It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. -Psalm18:32 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. -2 Corinthians 12:8 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. -Philippians 4:13 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man. -Ephesians 3: Our Hope Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God. -Psalm 146:5 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father. -1 Thessalonians 1:3 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. -Romans 15: Our Joy I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. -Isaiah 61:10 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. -John 15:11 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost. -1 Thessalonians 1:6

Can be tempted Ye shall not tempt the Lord your God, as ye tempted him in Massah. -Deuteronomy 6:16 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. -1 Corinthians 10:9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. -Acts Part II: Scriptures that compare the Holy Spirit to either Jehovah or Jesus. 1. God is a spirit and the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. -John 4:24 Jehovah & 2. Called the Spirit of the Father. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. -Romans 8:9 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. -Mark 13:11 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. -Matthew 10:19-20

9 3. Our body is His temple. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? -1 Corinthians 3:16 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? -1 Corinthians 6:19 4. Intercedes Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. -Romans 8:34 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. -Romans 8:26 Part III: The Unity Within The Trinity. There are Scriptures in the Bible that bear witness to the Trinity of God, the plurality of God and sometimes the unity within the Trinity. Below are some Scriptures that reveal the plurality of God. Other Scriptures mention the Father, Son and Holy Spirit together and not just their unity but also their distinctions. 1. Plurality And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. -Genesis 1:26-27 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever. -Genesis 3:22

10 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. -Genesis 11:6-7 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. -Isaiah 6:9 Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven. -Genesis 19:24 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. -Psalm 110:1 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. -Mark 12:36 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord. -Amos 4:11 2. Unity Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me. -Isaiah 48:16 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. -1 John 5:7 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and

11 through all, and in you all. -Ephesians 4:4-6 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased -Luke 3:21-22 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. -Matthew 28:19 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. -1 Corinthians 12:4-6 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. -Romans 8:9 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.
