3 How to Use this Calendar Attend your District s June Roundtable to pick up your calendar and program planning resources. Schedule a unit Annual Program Planning Conference in July or August to build your Scouting unit s calendar. Instructions on holding an Annual Program Planning Conference are in your packet and they can be found at the following websites. These websites also include additional program planning resources. Cub Scouts: Boy Scouts and Varsity: Venturing: Build your Pack, Troop, Team, or Crew calendar by selecting monthly themes and setting dates for unit activities for the year ahead. Each District s dates are listed on the page above the corresponding month s calendar. Council dates are listed on the calendar. When developing your program, review the Journey to Excellence requirements to ensure that your Scouting unit is providing a quality program to the families. Journey to Excellence Scorecards can be found by following this link: Share your Pack, Troop, Team, or Crew calendar with the families. Hold monthly committee meetings to review the plan to make sure that it is continuing to meet the needs of the families and the goals of the Scouting unit.
