1 IS ANYBODY LOOKING FOR THE OLD PATHS Jeremiah 6:16 16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. There have been new paths made and unfortunately a vast majority of folks are taking those new paths, and ignoring the old paths, but the old paths are proven paths, Abel new the old path to God, Abraham new the old path to God. Listen the Old path led you to some things; The Blood of Christ to Justify. The Love of God to Satisfy. The Spirit of Power to Sanctify. Let us this morning Stand in the ways, and see; I. THE OLD PATH OF SALVATION Jesus listed seven I am s in the book of John; John 6:35 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 8:12 12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

2 John 10:9 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:11 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 11:25 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 14:6 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 15:5 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Romans 10: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

3 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. II. THE OLD PATH OF TRUTH Psalm 119:9 9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. Psalm 119:11 11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:43 43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments. Psalm 119: Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth. John 17:17 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. III. THE OLD PATH TO THE HOUSE OF GOD Psalm 122:1 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. Psalm 100:1-5

4 1 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. 2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Hebrews 10:25 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. IV. THE OLD PATH OF WORSHIP Psalm 45:1 1 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Psalm 23:5 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Song of Songs 2:3-4 3 As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

5 4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. 2 Samuel 7: Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto? 19 And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD? 20 And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant. 21 For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them. 22 Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. John 4:24 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Philippians 3:3 3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

6 V. THE OLD PATH OF CONSECRATION 1 Chronicles 29:5 And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD? The word consecrate, means to be fenced in, fully given to, or filled with. 1 Peter 3:15 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Jeremiah 6:16 16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
