2 A note from Pastor Dean Aloha Church, Thank you once again for allowing me to be away during the last part of January and the beginning of February. Revival has been a great blessing we have had many folks come and renew their faith and commit to a greater walk with Jesus. I have already spoke 6 messages in the past 4 days and have given 2 bible studies for Campers on Missions (this is just mid week!). I was also blessed and given an honorary Campers on Mission vest for being a part of their Missions a number of times throughout the past 20 years (it was a tremendous honor). It seems that this year in Quartzsite things have picked up quite a bit as it is much fuller than last year. Give or take thousand people. It has been exciting what the Lord is doing! I am equally excited about many of our scheduled events for February. The Valentine s Banquet that our Youth puts on every year will be a great blessing to our church and friends. Also, the Outreach Mission to our South Kona Community; throughout the week of the 18th thru the 22nd we will be prayer walking, collecting can goods throughout the first 3 weeks at church, (food drive) and distribute them along with fruits and vegetables that we collect closer to our date of Feb 19th where we hope to set up tables with all these give away as well as serve a meal and Kanikapila. The dates for our basketball Camp, Soccer Camp as well as Health Fair is the day before, on Feb 18th. We have a team of 10 from New England that will join with us to minister to South Kona as well. I am reminded what the Lord says about ministering to the least of these. Matt. 25:40 That whenever we minister to others we minister to Him. My prayer is that you will get on board in helping us minister and reach this community for Jesus. You may be the only expression of Jesus they will ever see. Let us serve the Lord with Gladness, embrace the community God has given us and love the people He draws to us. Be blessed while serving, Pastor Dean

4 UPCOMING EVENTS Come and join us for a Valentine's Luau A fundraiser hosted by Kona Baptist Church Youth Group Friday, February 10 th 6:00pm 9:00pm At Kona Baptist Church $30.00 Per Person You will not want to miss the Valentine s Luau on February 10th! The evening promises to be full of fun, food and entertainment. Tickets on sale now! All proceeds benefit our Youth activities at Kona Baptist Church

5 February 15th - 22nd: Welcome the Mission Team from New England who will be ministering in South Kona. They will be assisting KBC in several ministries during their stay including Sports Camp! SPORTS CAMP - February Konawaena Elementary featuring Basketball and Soccer activities. Please join in on the fun! ALL are welcome. CANNED FOOD DRIVE: Now through February 18th We are collecting canned goods* to be distributed to the community. (*fresh fruit and vegetable donations will be collected as we get closer to the date) FOOD GIVEAWAY: Sunday, February 19th in the Hui Hui Chicken parking lot. Donations may be dropped off at the church office or placed in the donation box in anti-foyer.

7 CHURCH UPDATES FELLOWSHIP TEAM We had a good turn out for Dinner and a Movie last month (29 in total!). Thank you for all who came, and we look forward to doing it again soon!
