1 MISSISSIPPI SOUTHERN FIRST ECCLESIASTICAL JURISDICTION Church of God in Christ You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house Dalton Street Jackson, MS In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. 4 SPEAKERS BISHOP ROBERT G. RUDOLPH, JR. Adjutant General Church Of God In Christ, Inc. BISHOP ROBERT G. RUDOLPH, JR., is the seventh Adjutant General of the Church Of God In Christ. Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake formally appointed him to that position shortly after the promotion of the sixth Adjutant General, Bishop Matthew Williams to the General Board. Rudolph is the first Arkansan to be appointed to this office which makes him the chief minister of protocol for the denomination that was founded in 1907 and has over 6.5 million members in the United States and 83 countries around the globe. As Adjutant General, he assists the Presiding Bishop in directing the National Adjutancy which is a team of people who are united and organized to help make ministry work. Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparation for the consecration and installation of new bishops, the dignified execution of home going celebrations for deceased leaders, assisting the Presiding Bishop in the orderly conduction of national ceremonial occasions as well as performing any other duty that the Presiding Bishop may assign. On April 7, 2014, Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake recommended that Rudolph be appointed to the episcopacy. By unanimous consent, the General Board accepted this recommendation and the General Assembly of the denomination formally ratified the appointment. Rudolph was elected President of the Historic 2014 Episcopal Class by his peers which is the largest class of Bishops to be consecrated at one time in the history of the church. On November 9, 2014, he was formally consecrated to the Sacred Office of Bishop during the 107th International Holy Convocation of the Church Of God In Christ held in St. Louis, Missouri. Bishop Vincent Mathews, Jr. BISHOP VINCENT MATHEWS, JR. is saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost. Bishop Mathews graduated from Wayne State University (B.A.), University Of Illinois (M.A.) and North Carolina College Of Theology (Doctor of Theology). He was a Fulbright Fellow while studying African Language at The University Of Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania). Vincent is the author of 6 books. While Mathews has won numerous awards he declares that his primary goal in life is to hear God say, Well Done My Good And Faithful Servant. He is happily married to one wife, Sharon Denise Mathews and they reside in Johannesburg, South Africa. God has blessed them with 10 children (8 boys and 2 girls). Vincent was born and raised in Inkster Michigan. He was baptized as a young boy by Bishop P.A. Brooks (First Assistant Presiding Bishop). He attended Inkster Christian Academy, which was a ministry of Pentecostal Temple COGIC led by Bishop Isaac King,Jr. Mathews Graduated from St. Martin DePorres High School in Detroit. After University Studies and marriage, Mathews served faithfully with his father at the All Nations COGIC in many capacities from evangelism director to youth pastor. Vincent was ordained by Bishop C.L. Anderson, Jr. (General Board Member) Mathews was bi-vocational maintaining a vibrant career that transitioned from teaching to educational consulting. He founded the company Peaceful Solutions that was awarded contracts in 17 school districts across the USA to work with violent school code violators, inservice staff and train parents. He later, was named the Director of the Detroit Lions Academy, an alternative middle school that was a partnership with the Detroit Lions, Communities In Schools and Detroit Public Schools. However, God had a higher assignment. God called Vincent and Sharon to leave the American Dream to obtain a higher call, being a full-time missionary team. Subsequently, along with their children, they moved to South Africa to serve as full-time missionaries in Mathews served enthusiastically in many capacities under Bishop Carlis Moody, Sr. including Jurisdictional Secretary, District Superintendent, Regional Superintendent, Administrative Assistant, and National Board Member to name a few. Bishop Mathews is the Senior Pastor of one of the fast growing churches in Johannesburg, South Africa, The Tabernacle Church Of God In Christ, has grown from 6 members to over 1,750 active adult disciples. Tabernacle Church has 26 functioning ministries including a Christian school, Tabernacle Christian Academy, which educates children from nursery to High School. Bishop Mathews was consecrated Prelate of the South Africa First Jurisdiction In Under Bishop Mathews leadership the South Africa First Jurisdiction is focused on church planting, church growth and outreach in the notorious and dangerous townships and rural areas of South Africa. The South Africa First Jurisdiction is rapidly growing through a missional and evangelistic focus. In 2015, Bishop Mathews was appointed by Chief Apostle, Presiding Bishop Charles Blake and the General Board as the President of the Church Of God In Christ World Missions. He has a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus and Discipleship.
