1 The Fourth Angel s Message Maranatha, page 173 The three angels' messages are to be combined, giving their threefold light to the world. In the Revelation, John says, "I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory."... This represents the giving of the last and threefold message of warning to the world. Testimonies for the Church Volume Six, page 60 The third angel's message is to be given with power. The power of the proclamation of the first and second messages is to be intensified in the third. In the Revelation John says of the heavenly messenger who unites with the third angel: "I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice.'' Revelation 18:1, 2. #1 Revelation 14:6 - And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, #2 Revelation 14:8 - And there followed another angel, saying, #3 Revelation 14:9 - And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, #4 Revelation 18:1 - And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, CONTINUING: Testimonies for the Church Volume Six, page 60 We are in danger of giving the third angel's message in so indefinite a manner that it does not impress the people. So many other interests are brought in that the very message which should be proclaimed with power becomes tame and voiceless. At our camp meetings a mistake has been made. The Sabbath question has been touched upon, but has not been presented as the great test for this time. 1

The Lord bids us: "Show My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.'' Isaiah 58:1. The trumpet is to give a certain sound. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils" (Revelation 18:1, 2). This is the same message that was given by the second angel. Babylon is fallen, "because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication" (Revelation 14:8). What is that wine?--her false doctrines. She has given to the world a false sabbath instead of the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, and has repeated the falsehood that Satan first told Eve in Eden--the natural immortality of the soul. They have not recognized it in its relation to the work of the message as the right arm of the body. While very little respect has been shown to this department by many of the people, and by some of the ministers, the Lord has shown His regard for it by giving it abundant prosperity. When properly conducted, the health work is an entering wedge, making a way for other truths to reach the heart. When the third angel's message is received in its fullness, health reform will be given its place in the councils of the conference, in the work of the church, in the home, at the table, and in all the household arrangements. Manuscript 32, 1896 It is true that there are prophecies yet to be fulfilled. But very erroneous work has been done again and again, and will continue to be done by those who seek to find new light in the prophecies, and who begin by turning away from the light that God has already given. The messages of Revelation 14 are those by which the world is to be tested; they are the everlasting gospel and are to be sounded everywhere. Testimonies for the Church Volume Five, There are a thousand temptations in disguise prepared for those who have the light of truth; and the only safety for any of us is in receiving no new doctrine, no new interpretation of the Scriptures, without first submitting it to brethren of experience. Lay it before them in a humble, teachable spirit, with earnest prayer; and if they see no light in it, yield to their judgment; for "in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Drums? We re too smart for that! 1) It s the wrong understanding of prophecy that appears to give strength to our message. 2) It s what we think the pioneers taught when they had not taught it. Many things will be presented that appear to be true, and yet they need to be carefully considered with much prayer; for they may be specious devices of the enemy. The path of error often appears to lie close to the path of truth. It is hardly distinguishable from the path that leads to holiness and heaven. But the mind enlightened by the Holy Spirit may discern that it is diverging from the right way. After a while the two are seen to be widely separated. Daniel 12 Prophecies Daniel 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which [was] upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that [it shall be] for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these [things] shall be finished. [1260 days] Daniel 12:11 And from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days. [1290 days] Daniel 12:12 Blessed [is] he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. [1335 days] 5

6 One is a literal set of time lines that start with the Sunday law 1290 marks the substitution of Sunday for the Sabbath After 30 days, the 1260 days is going to be a period of persecution But, from Sunday law, it will be 1,335 days until the second coming being the blessed group who waiteth When the pioneers spoke (written for us) were they arguing against 3 and upholding 2 persons to the Godhead? Pioneers are not prophets, so let s ask the prophet 1290 (actually years) started in 508 A.D. with the substitution of the mass (sacrificing Jesus) in place of the daily ministering of Jesus 1260 (actually years) is 538 A.D. to 1798 The blessed that waited 1,335 (actually years) are those of the Advent message of 1843/44 Testimonies for the Church Containing Messages of Warning and Instruction to Seventh-day Adventists, page 63.2 The Comforter that Christ promised to send after He ascended to heaven, is the Spirit in all the fulness of the Godhead, making manifest the power of divine grace to all who receive and believe in Christ as a personal Saviour. But how appropriate the figure as applied to the Protestant churches, all professing to derive their doctrines from the Bible, yet divided into almost innumerable sects. The unity for which Christ prayed does not exist. Instead of one Lord, one faith, one baptism, there are numberless conflicting creeds and theories. Religious faith appears so confused and discordant that the world know not what to believe as truth. God is not in all this; it is the work of man,--the work of Satan. - 7

There Should Be Time No Longer! - Daniel 9:23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew [thee]; for thou [art] greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. Clearly Daniel 9 is connected to Daniel 8 - Daniel 8:17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end [shall be] the vision. Daniel 8:19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end [shall be]. - Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. - Daniel 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed day prophecy - 70 weeks = 490 days 490 days are broken down further Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, [that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 7 weeks + 3 score (score = 20) + 2 weeks = 69 weeks - 9

10 Why weeks? Why not weeks? Why not weeks? Why not just 69 weeks Because from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem Within the first 7 weeks or within the first 49 days they will restore and build Jerusalem - Ezra 6:14 And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished [it], according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. Which decree starts the timeline (Cyrus 537 BC, Darius 520 BC, or Artaxerxes 457 BC)? - John 2:20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? - Ezra 7:8 And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which [was] in the seventh year of the king. Ezra 7:20-21 And whatsoever more shall be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to bestow, bestow [it] out of the king's treasure house. And I, [even] I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which [are] beyond the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily - Numbers 14:34 After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, [even] forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, [even] forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise. Ezekiel 4:6 And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year. - The Concise Columbia Encyclopedia. Artaxerxes I, d. 425 BC (r BC), was a member of the Achaemenid dynasty. 464 minus 7 = 457 B.C. - 10

11 Seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks 457 B.C Weeks = 455 B.C. Did the Messiah come in 455 B.C.? No! 457 B.C Years (69 weeks x 7 days) = 27 A.D. [Remember, no zero year so add 1 year] Did Messiah show up in 27 A.D.? Yes! Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. - Luke 3:1-2 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. Dating this chapter is the purpose of all these references - Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. - Luke 3:21-22 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. - Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. - 11

12 Matthew 10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into [any] city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Was not time to go to the Gentiles Matthew 18:21-22 [Jesus hints at Daniel s timeline] Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. - Matthew 26:18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. John 7:6 Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready. John 7:8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come. The time line to His birth was past so He wasn t referring to that time, and there is no other time prophecy outside of Daniel 9 for the first coming! Only time left in prophecy during His day would be Daniel 9:27 in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease - Mark 15:37-38 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. - Acts 8:4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. Acts 13:45-46 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles BC 34 AD 31 AD Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people Daniel s people are Jews Acts 7:59-60 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon [God], and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
