Cntact a Funeral Hme: What t D When a Lved One Dies Cntact a funeral hme f yur chice t schedule an appintment with the funeral hme directr. Ask a clse family member r friend t g with yu t the funeral hme. It will be helpful t take the fllwing infrmatin with yu when yu visit the funeral hme: Date, time and lcatin the family is requesting fr the visitatin/viewing, funeral, and graveside services Funeral/Memrial service request (if available). Funeral Services at Champin Frest Baptist Church Funeral services are designed t meet the needs f the family and every attempt is made t accmmdate the family's requests. Our Pastral Care Service Crdinatr will meet r speak with the family t review the fllwing: Funeral/Memrial Service date: Is the funeral date agreeable t the church, family and the funeral hme? 3 The church will nt cancel any majr events (weddings, cnferences, wrkshps, etc.) t accmmdate a funeral service. **Services are held n weekdays befre 3 p.m. and must be cnfirmed at least tw business days prir t ccurring. Viewings/Visitatins the day r night prir t a funeral service will be scheduled at the church ONLY if the funeral hme cannt accmmdate the number f attendants. Please ntify yur flrist t make all deliveries 2-3 hurs prir t a funeral/memrial service in ur Champin Frest Chapel. Please be advised that CFBC is unable t stre flral arrangements vernight. CFBC is happy t prvide a cmfrtable space fr a lunchen/receptin fr yur family and special guests fllwing a funeral/memrial/graveside service. Yu are welcme t have yur meal catered prfessinally and/r allw family, friends, Life Grup members, etc., t deliver their fd items ne t tw hurs prir t the funeral service start time. Vide presentatins are always a sweet remembrance t be shwn just befre r during a service, hwever, please be advised that it must be submitted 24 hurs prir t the funeral service fr review. All presentatins shuld be in a mp4 r.mv vide frmat n a USB flash drive. If yu are planning t include bth a graveside service and als a receptin, yu may want t cnsider having the graveside service prir t the funeral service. The time required t travel frm CFBC t the graveside and back t the church fr a receptin has grwn significantly due t an increase in traffic in nrthwest Hustn. Here at CFBC there is a distinct difference between a funeral service and a memrial service. Funeral services typically ccur within the week (3-7days) f yur lved ne s passing, and a funeral hme is heavily invlved in the handling f details surrunding yur lved ne s bdy, flwers, visitatin, guest bk, hnrariums, burial, etc. Our CFBC Pastral Care Ministry is here t answer yur questins and pssible cncerns regarding the service and receptin. CFBC Hstesses are als prvided t assist in greeting and giving directin t all family members and guests while present n the CFBC campus. Memrial Services ccur at a time that is best fr the surviving lved nes. There is n casket; hwever the family may still pt fr the services f a funeral hme t assist in the handling and delivering f ashes, flwers, hnrariums, etc. In the absence f a casket, a family may pt t have pictures and treasured memrabilia f their lved ne displayed. Shuld this ccur, the Pastral Care Ministry will prvide a CFBC pastr wh will help make yur lved ne s funeral meaningful and special.

5 3. Can a pastr frm anther church and/r denminatin fficiate my lved ne s funeral? All licensed pastrs (apart frm CFBC rdained ministers), regardless f denminatin, must be apprved by Pastr Ryan Terry r Pastr Eliel Diaz. Please submit yur request t the Pastral Care Office at r rterry@cfbc.rg. 4. Hw d I secure a slist and/r musician fr the service? Our Pastral Care Office wrks hand in hand with ur CFBC Music Ministry. The Pastral Care staff will be happy t help crdinate the music needed fr yur lved ne s service. 5. What is the custmary hnrarium fr thse wh help with yur lved ne s funeral? Please knw that it is never expected, but always appreciated when families wish t shw their gratitude t individuals wh serve the family. The amunts listed belw are standard practice, but nt required r expected. If yu wish t express yur appreciatin with an hnrarium, then please give cash r write checks t individuals persnally. Nt nly is it apprpriate, but here at CFBC we encurage a family member(s) and/r a clse friend(s) t share persnal remembrances during the funeral r memrial service! Their remarks will create a mre meaningful and memrable tuch t the service. Our staff will be happy t give guidance n timing and a suitable place fr this t ccur during the service. Please knw this is ptinal and never required shuld yu chse a mre traditinal style service. 7. Can CFBC vide the funeral/memrial service? CFBC des nt prvide a videgrapher fr funeral/memrial services, but we d prvide an audi recrding f the service per yur request. Yu are welcme t have yur wn videgrapher in place t vide the service s that family/guests are able t watch if they are nt able t attend. Please infrm the Pastral Care Office and they will let yu knw the ideal lcatin fr a vide camera that wuld nt distract frm the service. 8. Des CFBC prvide fd fr the receptin? CFBC des nt prvide fd fr the receptin. The church prvides cffee, tea, and chilled water per yur request. We are als happy t make sure bth serving tables and dining tables with chairs are set up prir t the lunchen/receptin. Our Pastral Care Staff and Hstesses will als be present t receive caterers, fd frm Life Grup and/r family members and friends. They als will help make sure fd stays warm and is set ut apprpriately just befre the receptin, and als be available t help clean up and wrap up any leftver fd fr family members t take hme immediately fllwing the receptin.
