1 COX CEMETERY ADAIR COUNTY, MISSOURI The Cox Cemetery is located in northwest Adair County next to the Putnam County line, near Sidney. Take 149 north to Route A., take Route A about 2 miles to a gravel road going north. Take this road about 2 or 3 miles. The cemetery is on the east side of the road on top of a hill. It is about 2 acres, and is incorporated for perpetual care. It is assumed that the Bibee family gave the land, and it was called the Bibee cemetery in No one seems to know why or when the name was changed to Cox. It is said that the original name of the cemetery may have been Sizemore. The second grave appears to have been Elizabeth Sizemore in The first was Erikson in Betty Swisher submitted the information from the stones and Bob Drummond gave other information. Re-typed from the 1979 Adair Cemetery Book by Michele Cragg, June Red indicates changes, notes, additions or from tombstone pictures on web pages.
