1 The story of Ananias and Sapphira Acts 5: Acts 5:1 Acts 5:2 Acts 5:3 Acts 5:4 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet. But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him. And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband. And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things. And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch. And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) Do you want to be like Ananias and Sapphira to lie before God and die? Today, many want to gain over others, to take the upper hand and advantage of others, and to prevail over others, to get control. The act of cheating is growing in everyday life. 3 There seems to be no honor system. All righteous deals have been discarded for gain. Where is your integrity and the code of honor? Today it is honor among thieves, but when something goes wrong, they either hurt or kill one another. The Lord said many are called but few are chosen. Matthew 22:14 Romans 12:17 Philippians 4:8 Philippians 4:9 For many are called, but few are chosen. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. We need to believe in being honest in all of our doings. The cross roads of choosing between honest and dishonest, is your on a daily basics. You have the free choice lying, stealing, cheating, and bearing false witness. Just follow the Ten Commandments, in living them and you will meet God. Beware of lying lips, from friends, strangers, news media, and many other sources. 4 Sin comes in many forms, but lie is the major device Satan uses. Part or half truths, is still a lie and a path to hell. A lie is appalling, disgraceful, loathsome, and wicked. Satan is the father of all lies. John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Satan had rebelled in the beginning and he wants to destroy the agency of us all, which the God gave us, for God had cast him out of heaven and down to earth. Satan, the father of all lies, for he wants to deceive and blind us, and to lead us captive at his will to destroy all men that would listen to him. Satan is to be thrust down to hell, who is the father of all lies, and all who choose to lie will follow him to hell. God Himself cannot lie. Do you believe the words and scriptures of the Lord, but you do not keep them. God, our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, both hate lying. Proverbs 6:12 Proverbs 6:13 Proverbs 6:14 A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: Associated with any transgressions is lying. Hosea 4:1 Hosea 4:2 Hosea 4:3 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away. 6 The Lord has said that so much swearing, lying, killing, stealing, committing adultery, and the land will be destroyed, disasters, earthquakes, storms, floods, and much more. Matthew 24:6 Matthew 24:7 Matthew 24:8 Matthew 24:9 Matthew 24:10 Matthew 24:11 Matthew 24:12 Matthew 24:13 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. With Ananias and Sapphira, The Lord let it be known to the members of His church, that His vengeance can come swift and fast for lying. In the days of Ananias and Sapphira, they lived in a time when they shared with everyone and when any had a need, it was taken care of, with no poor. Acts 4:34 Acts 4:35 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Those who do not change their ways are heading for that lake which burns with fire and brimstone, called hell. Satan who is the father of all lies, and it all started in the Garden of Eden. We know that God cannot lie. God hates all lying. Any and all lying is considered as a major transgression with the Lord. If you do not repent of lying and you will take part with Satan in that lake of fire and brimstone. He that lies, and will not repent shall be cast out of heaven. Date: 02/26/ Page 7 of 13

8 Speaking evil of your neighbor, which is lying, or do them harm, or envy, hatred, malice, and all the rest of that great horde of iniquities, no matter how small or large, will get you into heaven. Speaking and living truths form the scriptures; will be a shield to you form the world. May God help you to turn away from these types of practices? All sin is equal in the eyes of God In our world today, crimes are being broken all the time and in all levels of life. Employee theft from work, even taking a paper clip or pencil, is stealing. Malachi 3:8 Malachi 3:9 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. By not paying a full tithe and a full offering is stealing from God, and when you feel like holding back from God, even a little for other wants, is robbing God. A full tithe and full offering of whatever you bring in as income or gain of any sort, needs to be brought before the Lord and His servant. Our society is disintegrating into ugliness and chaos. 9 When you break the Commandments, you are hanging by thread, and heading for that great lake of fire, but keeping the commandments, the Lord will restore that rope and you will have eternal life. In our day those that are found to be dishonesty, lie, steal, cheat, they do not die as did Ananias and Sapphira, but something within us dies. Our conscience is choked, our character is wilted and faded, our self respect will vanish, and our integrity dies. Any sin robs us of our values and we die. When honest people, well intentioned people of great power, they would trade their character for a handful of trinkets that turn to water before their eyes and their dreams will turn to haunting nightmares. Honesty is a rare gem indeed, and how precious a jewel is the person in whom there is neither craftiness nor dishonesty nor falsehood. 1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. 13 How long is Eternity? This life is very short compared to Eternity, this is a test for us here. Whether we live a few moments in the mother s womb or 150 years old, compared to the Eternities, this life is nothing, we are here to choose the right and marry and raise a family of children unto God.
