1 NOTICE OF PRIMARY ELECTION STATE OF MISSOURI JACKSON COUNTY TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2008 Notice is hereby given to the registered qualified voters of Jackson County, Missouri, outside the corporate limits of Kansas City, Missouri, that the Missouri Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 5, The polls in Jackson County will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. The purpose of the Primary Election is to nominate candidates in the Republican, Democratic, and Libertarian parties of Missouri and Jackson County for the federal, state and county offices to be voted upon at the General Election scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2008; and for the election of the county committeemen and county committeewomen in the various townships and sub-districts in Jackson County. The names of the federal and state candidates were certified by the Honorable Robin Carnahan, Secretary of State, and the names of the county and committee candidates were certified by Mary Jo Spino, Clerk of the Jackson County Legislature. This notice is being published in accordance with applicable state statutes.
