M. norm.baker@calvary.edu Office: 226 East Ed. Phone:1390 I. DESCRIPTION A study of the books of Daniel and Revelation with special emphasis on the prophetic outline developed in these books. The course also will deal with the arguments for the authenticity of the book of Daniel. * This is a blended class, meaning that both campus and online students take this class together. Campus students attend the classes in person, online students attend the classes via the online classroom. All interaction and assignments for campus and online students are done in the online classroom. II. OBJECTIVES A General competencies to be achieved. The student will: 1. Understand the prophetic outline presented by the books of Daniel and Revelation 2. Understand the arguments for the authenticity of the book of Daniel 3. Understand the reasoning of the prophetic nature of the book of the Revelation. 4. Anticipate the imminence of prophetic fulfillment. B Specific competencies to be achieved. The student will: 1. Argue for God s control in the establishment of nations and people. 2. Defend that right choices do not necessarily result in emotionally positive consequences. 3. Demonstrate that the God of heaven is the God of Gods. 4. Demonstrate that Israel will be the focus of God s work in the future as she was in the past. 5. Argue for God s justice to be executed in wrath, during the time of wrath and indignation on the earth. Our Mission: To Live According to a Biblical Worldview

2 6. Argue that God will be absolutely just in his final judgment and forever rewards. III. REQUIREMENTS A. Study & Discussion Questions At the end of the syllabus you will find the study and discussion questions which you will answer in preparation for each book for each class. Each set of questions is worth 10 points. The answers to each questions must be typed. The answer for each question must correspond with the question number. Or you can type each question and then below the question type, Answer: and type out your answer. B. Textbook Evaluations Each student will write a 5 page evaluation for each of Walvoord s books on Daniel and Revelation. C. Synopsis Each student will write a synopsis of Daniel and Revelation. The synopsis for Daniel will be 6 pages and cove a walk-through of the book, (that is what is happening in each chapter). The synopsis for Revelation will be 10 pages. D. Research Term Paper Each student will write a research paper of 10 pages. The subject will be chosen by the student and be something pertaining to the book of Daniel or Revelation or both books. IV.
