Letter re article in Nineteenth Century Review Description: Letter from Robert C Drummond, Worthing, Captain, late Seaforth Highlanders, asking, with Lady Cathcart's permission, information on crofters for an article he is writing for the review. Emergency cultivation of potatoes Description: Authorisation by the Board of Agriculture for Scotland, for the cultivation of potatoes in 1917 on selected areas of the machair lands applicable to holdings in the townships of Ormiclate, Bornish, Kildonan, Airidh Mhuillinn, Garryvaltos and North Frobost. This is an emergency measure in the maintenance of food production, under Defence of the Realm Regulation 2M. (2 items) Correspondence with former parish minister, Rev. D.
