8 YOUNG AT HEART SENIORS SENIORS IN JANUARY Party time! On January 7th we celebrated all our Young at Heart birthdays with ice cream, cake, and party games. We began with yes and no questions to guess what name was pinned on our backs. President Serena Neese led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and God Bless America. Joan Morris asked the blessing on the food, we enjoyed our yummy potluck. Rita Mahoney made a clean sweep on game prizes. President Serena Neese then resigned and turned her duties over to Vice-President Marla Coons. Many thanks to Serena Neese for her devoted services. Our next meeting will be a pizza party on February 7th. SENIORS IN FEBRUARY Party time again! Pizza party to exact! Celebrating President s Day and Valentine s Day February 7th. Leah Towers had our hall decorated inn flowers and flags. President Marla Coons welcomed us, led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and My Country Tis of Thee. Betty Cones asked the Lord s blessing of our food and we seniors. Luncheon was prepared by Sherlin Grill and Anna Gillespie. Famous sweethearts was our pencil and paper game during our meal. Patricia Bigler came early to take our vital signs for us. Minutes of January 7th were read by Betty Cones and the treasurer s report by Anna Gillespie. Dorothy Allinson is still on our sick list. Don Brantley and Dick Hallsey are ambulatory now! Max Berry just celebrated his 91st birthday, he is the oldest veteran in Eureka, and past president of Young at Heart! Yay Max! New members Deanna Sorenson and Noel Wall are heartily welcomed! Dennis Wahlberg was elected to Vice-President of Young at Heart to assist Marla Coons. Thank you, Dennis. Our annual St. Patrick s Day luncheon was assigned: meat by Cones and Coons, veggies by Sherlin Grill and Carol Dean, desserts by Joan Morris and Diane McCauley, Faith and Begorrah-See you on March 7th. P.S. Linda Young s crocheted animal toys that accompanied humanitarian aid to Santa Rosa was more than needed, so were auctioned off for several hundred dollars, which was used for other necessities! You should see her elephants in tutus and turtles, and aliens, etc., etc., etc., SO CUTE! Hats of to Linda.
