10 The Model AwanaGames Participant From 1 Corinthians 13 In today s society, what an awesome opportunity we have to teach true sportsmanship! Love Suffereth Long We never lose patience, no matter how many times our toes are stepped on during the balloon volley. And is Kind We tag other runners out GENTLY in the Sprint and Marathon races. Love Does Not Envy We are not jealous over the brand new uniforms that the other team is wearing. Love Does Not Parade Itself We do not brag when we win, we are thankful God has enabled us to do well, and we congratulate other players on the good job they did. Love Is Not Puffed Up We do not feel we are better than the runner we beat, but realize that God has gifted us differently. Love Does Not Behave Rudely We do not strike out at another player when we are accidentally hit in the face in the Bean Bag Grab. Love Does Not Seek Her Own We do not argue and try to get our way on the events we will be in. Love Is Not Provoked We never lose our temper, even when the team across from us lets go of the rope during the Tug and we fall to the floor. Love Thinks No Evil We naturally think that the other teams are going to play fairly and cleanly, and do not expect that they will cheat. Love Does Not Rejoice In Iniquity, But Rejoices In The Truth -- We are saddened when another player on our team wants to get even for a bump he received from another team s player. Love Bears All Things We thank God for the chance to grow up a little when we fall in the first lap of the 3 Legged Race. Love Believes All Things When we are knocked down in the Beanbag Grab, our first thought is that it was an accident, and that it was not deliberate. Love Hopes All Things We do not know the word defeat. Even when we finish last, we can see something good about it, and are ready to try again. Love Endures All Things When our team goes through the whole AwanaGames, and does not even win one event, we know we did our best, and go home with a good feeling because of that. Love Never Fails We love our team, our coach, and our Lord Jesus Christ as much when the AwanaGames Day is over as we did when it begins.

TREK 24/7 & Journey 24/7 AwanaGames Support Staff Assignments EVERY TEAM is responsible for supplying a Line Judge* & Scorekeeper*. Every Team must also supply 3 additional people for support staff positions that will be filled the day of the event.

12 Sparks A- Rama & AwanaGames Support Staff Position Descriptions NOTE: In addition to your support staff and coaches each church should have one designated person to check in for your support staff. Line Judge: A line judge must be an adult male. He must have attended the event training day. He should have a good working knowledge of the games before attending training. He needs to wear tennis shoes the day of the event. He will need to personally check-in at the Staff table to receive his line judge shirt and pin. Scorekeeper: All scorekeepers must be female. Adults are preferred but responsible high school students may serve as scorekeepers. She must have attended the event training day. She should have the ability to add accurately and quickly. She will need to personally check-in at the Staff table to receive her Scorekeeper shirt and pin. Timer: A timer may be male or female adult or high school student with legible handwriting. They should wear tennis shoes and an Awana uniform. We do not use timers during the Sparks-A-Rama. Equipment: An equipment handler may be a male or female. A sharp teen or adult who has a working knowledge of the games can fill this position. This person will be responsible for setting up/handing out the game equipment. This person needs to wear tennis shoes and an Awana uniform or Awana shirt. Security/Grandstand Duty: The responsibilities for this position include helping with crowd control at the doors and above and below the bleachers. No food or drinks are allowed in the gym and everyone should be wearing a wristband unless they are on a team. It will also include closing the door nearest you during all the balloon games, so that no team has an advantage or disadvantage over another team. An adult, as the greater age commands more respect, should fill this position. It would be helpful if this person were in an Awana uniform or shirt. Programs: This job entails standing just inside the gym doors and handing out programs to those who come in. One program per family please. Anyone teenage or older can fill this position. It would be helpful if this person were in an Awana uniform or Awana shirt. Staff: This person could end up performing any of the above tasks except line judge and scorekeeper. They will be placed where the need is greatest. It would be helpful if this person were in an Awana uniform or Awana shirt.
