The conventon theme was "The Church n Crss". The theme verses were Peter 4: Pre-servce musc was provded by Rachel Denns, Beth Denns, and Ben Campbell from Frst Free Wll Baptst, North Lttle Rock. The servce opened wth song drector Tm Landers leadng the congregaton n sngng "Holy, Holy, Holy" and" Worshp You Almghty God." Randy Ledbetter, Clerk, led n prayer, called the sesson to order and ntroduced Moderator Davd Bshop. Brother Bshop read from Psalm 66:16, and spoke of the goodness of God and how God has been hs help and encouragement. The Commttee on Commttees was elected as follows: Davd Rawles, Tommy Tms, Leroy Scudder, Tm Harrs, and Dale Blackwell. Tm Landers led the congregaton n sngng "Ts So Sweet to Trust n Jesus" and "n tmes Lke These". Assstant Clerk Wendell Leckbee led n offertory prayer. The offerng for the two nghts was $1,434.44, dvded among the three msson agences to the followng mssonares present: 1/3 to state mssons (Jm Farchld); 113 to home mssons (Paul Hammons and Rue Dell Smth); and 113 to foregn mssons (Don McDonald and Patsy Vanhook). Offertory musc was brought by Debbe Strplng. The Huntsvlle Free Wll Baptst Church Tro brought specal musc, sngng " What a Savor s Mne" and "Hallelujah, Hes Comng Agan." Moderator Davd Bshop ntroduced the evenng speaker, Dr.

7 Danny Dwyer. Nelson Henderson prayed for Gods anontng on the message. Dr. Dwyer spoke from Ephesans 3:14-21 on "The Challenge of the Tmes" and how we as Chrstans need to respond to these challenges by drawng upon the strength avalable to us n Chrst. The congregaton sang "Breathe On Me", as a song of response. The report of the Commttee on Commttees was read by the clerk (p. 11). Brother Jacke Brown dsmssed the servce n prayer. \! Wednesday Mornng August 4, 24 The sesson opened wth the congregaton sngng " How Great Thou Art" led by Tm Landers. Davd Wllams led n prayer. Jeff Barnett brought the mornng devoton from Romans 13:11 enttled "Wake Up and Smell the Lost". Moderator Davd Bshop brought a bref message from Psalm 67:1. The Credentals Commttee Report was read by the Clerk. (p. 11) Moton passed to accept the report and seat the delegates. The commttee was dsmssed. Vstors were welcomed by the Moderator. The Report of Arkansas Women Actve For Chrst was gven by Presdent Lsa Bowden (pp ). Moton passed to receve the report. Lsa Bowden gave a report and power pont presentaton on the 5 year hstory of Arkansas Women Actve for Chrst. Steve Tral prayed a prayer of thanks and blessng for the Women Actve for Chrst n Arkansas. The Report of the State Executve Board was gven by Wll Harmon (pp ). Attorney Lynn Plemmons reported on the legal status of the organzatonal structure of Arkansas Free Wll Baptsts. Moton made and passed to accept the proposed reorganzaton brought by the subcommttee apponted at the Executve Board meetng on October 9, 23. The Arkansas State Assocaton of Free Wll Baptsts wll be the only ncorporated entty, and the other boards wll not be ncorporated, but wll be dvsons under the larger corporaton. Brother Keth Johnson was recognzed for hs years of servce at the Chrstan Supply Store. Davd Wnfrey was ntroduced as the New Manager of the Chrstan Supply Store. Moton passed to accept the report. The Report of the Executve Drector was gven by Executve Drector Tm Campbell, (pp ) and Audtor Rcky Taylor gave the Audtors 5

The Report of the Chrstan Supply Store was gven by Keth Johnson (pp ). Brother Keth thanked and recognzed hs famly for ther help and support n the Chrstan Supply Store mnstry, and thanked the state for the retrement recepton n hs honor, and for the honor of servng the State Assocaton and ts people. Specal musc was. brought by the Wnfrey Quartet, who sang "When We Get home" and Gods Word Wll Stand." Moderator Davd Bshop ntroduced the mornng speaker, Brother Fred Warner. He spoke from Peter 1: on the theme "The Character of the Church". He called us to lve holy lves n the fear of God. After sngng "Wherever He Leads ll Go", the meetng was dsmssed. Wednesday Afternoon Busness Sesson August 4, 24 The sesson opened wth Tm Landers leadng the congregaton n sngng "A Glorous Church." Kerry Gandy led n prayer. Brother Greg Caswell brought the afternoon devoton from Ezekel 22:3-31 on our need to be people of prayer and then led n prayer. The State Youth Board Report was brought by Johnny Mller (pp ) and Patrck Baze gave the Youth Drectors Report (pp ). Specal presentatons were made to Mark Strplng and Leo Martn for ther work wth the youth of our state. Audtor Rcky Taylor reported on the camp fnances. Moton passed to receve these reports and adopt the budget. Darren Walker was elected to the State Youth Board, replacng Leo Martn, and John Gllland was elected replacng Mark Strplng. The Chrstan Educaton Board Report was gven by Kendall Ross (pp ). Moton passed to accept the report and adopt the budget. Bob Brown and Randy Scott were reelected to the Chrstan Educaton Board. 6

Randy Burrs and Davd Taylor were reelected to the State Msson Board. The Acts 1:8 Task Force Report was gven by Nelson Henderson (pp ). Moton passed to adopt the new fundng formula proposed by the Acts 1 :8 Task Force (p. 69) and accept the report. The State Msson Drector Report was gven by Don Matchett (pp ). Moton was passed to accept the report. James Klgore brought a report from the Free Wll Baptst Famly Mnstres. Johnny Mller was elected to serve on ther board. The Report of the Resoluton Commttee was read and accepted (p. 14). The Report of the Obtuary Commttee was read by Assstant Clerk Wendell Leckbee (p. 12). State Offcers elected for the next year were as follows: Keth Bowden: Assstant Clerk, Wendell Leckbee: Clerk, Nelson Henderson Assstant Moderator, and Davd Bshop: Moderator. Nelson Henderson was elected to the Hllsdale Free Wll Baptst College Board. Reports were gven from several Natonal Agences: Hllsdale Free Wll Baptst College, Executve Offce of the Natonal Assocaton, Natonal nternatonal Msson, Board of Retrement, Free Wll Baptst Foundaton, Natonal Home Msson, Randall House Publcatons, Free Wll Baptsts Bble College, Alabama Free Wll Baptst Chldrens Home. Moton passed to adopt a resoluton that the Arkansas State Assocaton 7

10 requests that the Tennessee State Assocaton permt the Arkansas State Assocaton to have another poston on the Board of Trustees of Free Wll Baptst Famly Mnstres. Executve Drector Tm Campbell opened the servce wth a specal presentaton to honor Keth and Barbara Johnson for ther years of servce to Arkansas Free Wll Baptsts. After a power-pont pctoral presentaton, Wll Harmon spoke of Brother Keths 23 years of servce to our denomnaton, and presented the Johnsons wth a monetary gft. Tm Landers led the congregaton n sngng "Well Work Tll Jesus Comes." Brother Randell Smth led n prayer. The Old Reyno Free Wll Baptst Church Chor brought specal musc, sngng "Lookng For A Cty", and "Sweeter As the Days Go By." Levan Hubbard led n prayer for our msson offerng. Lyndsey Strplng brought specal musc, sngng "Not Too Far From Here". The congregaton sang "A Glorous Church", and LeAnn Ledbetter brought specal musc, sngng "Completely Yours." Executve Drector Tm Campbell ntroduced the evenng speaker, Dwayne Roper, who spoke from 1 Peter 4:17-18 on the theme "The Comng of the Judgement." He encouraged us to lve up to the potental and plan that God has set for us, and that He wll judge us. The congregaton sang "Whatever t Takes" as a song of response. 13 REPORT OF THE ARKANSAS WOMEN ACTVE FOR CHRST The 5th Annual sesson of the Arkansas Women Actve for Chrst met August 3, 24, at Conway Publc School Audtorum. The theme for the day was "Honor the Past, Celebrate the Present, Antcpate the Future". The theme scrpture was Dueteronomy 6:7. The sngng was drected by Freda Lews wth Sue Patton as the panst. Several home and Foregn Mssonares gave greetngs and updates durng the Mssonary Share Tme. 11 Dstrcts reported wth 68 locals and membershp of 755. A total of 175 regstered, ncludng 3 Foregn Mssonares, and 3 Home Mssonares. Total recepts for 23 were $76, Our gvng to Foregn Mssons was $35, (Acts 1 :8 recevng $19, of ths amount), Natonal Home Mssons $13,266.48, Chldrens Home $3,699.98, and our 23 State Project Bookstore n Nantes, France $1, The followng resolutons were adopted. (See below) The 37 1 h Annual banquet was held n the Student Center Ballroom on the UCA Campus, August 3, 24 at 5:pm wth 185 n attendance. Genelle Scott, former Presdent of Arkansas Women Actve for Chrst spoke from the theme "Honor the Past, Celebrate the Present, Antcpate the Future." Specal musc was by Alene Coffman, former Arkansas Women Actve for Chrst Presdent. The Annual Retreat was held on Aprl 3-May 1, 24, at Camp Beaverfork wth 149 regstered. The theme was "Travelng Lght" taken from Max Lucados book of the same ttle. The scrpture was Matthew 11:3. The speaker was Sandra Bshop, mssonary to Japan. The State project adopted was to contnue the funds to pay on the camp bathroom loan. The treasurers report was read and approved. We had 62 n attendance. The corporatons support comes prmarly from COOP recepts and Sunday School lterature sales. The Corporaton s exempt from federal ncome tax under secton 51 (c)(3) of the nternal Revenue Code. The followng sgnfcant accountng polces have been followed n the preparaton of the fnancal statements: Bass of Accountng The Corporaton prepares ts fnancal statements usng the accrual bass of accountng, whch nvolves the applcaton of generally accepted accountng prncples; consequently, revenues ahd gans are recognzed when earned, and expenses and losses are recognzed when ncurred. Bass of Presentaton Fnancal statement presentaton follows the recommendatons of the Fnancal Accountng Standards Board n ts Statement of Fnancal Accountng Standards (SFAS) No. 117, Fnancal Statements of Not-for-Proft Organzatons. METHOD OF ACCOUNTNG The fmancal statements of the Corporaton have been prepared on the accrual bass of accountng, where ncome and expenses are recorded as they are earned or ncurred. PROPERTY AND EQUPMENT Property and equpment are recorded at cost. Deprecaton s computed usng the straght-lne method based on the estmated useful lves ofthe related assets.
