People People show love When they tell, when they tell Others about Jesus, others about Jesus, As God wants us to do. 4:45 p.m. and 9:15 a.m. 3 s Thru Pre K Paul and Barnabas Told about Jesus Craft Center: Go Tell Craft Supplies provided: Jumbo die-cut circle, die-cut world, small red heart, and Bible phrase strip. Remind the children that Barnabas and Paul traveled everywhere telling others about Jesus. Give each child a set of die-cuts and the Bible strip. Encourage them to glue the die-cut world and the heart on the large circle. Place the heart on the left side of the world and the Bible phrase at the bottom of the circle. Have the children repeat the Bible phrase with you. Play In Bible Learning Activities Playing out roles and imitating others is a way for preschoolers to learn. Children will begin to understand the Bible phrase as you relate it to what they are doing in the activities. Tell others about Jesus. Toss a beanbag to a child and tell him something about Jesus. When he repeats the fact aloud, he tosses the beanbag to you or to another child. When everyone has had a turn, start again and tell something else about Jesus. Talk About the Bible Story Bring the teaching picture and the Bible marker with you. Open your Bible to Acts 13:1 as you tell the Bible story. Suggest children to listen for ways that Paul and Barnabas traveled from place to place. Afterward, encourage volunteers to share their answers. Say a Bible Phrase Pass a beanbag around the circle while playing music on the CD player. When the music stops, the child holding the beanbag may come and locate the Bible marker in your Bible. As you indicate the correct verse, comment, These words in the Bible say to tell others about Jesus. Pray Thank you God, for my family and teachers who tell me about Jesus. Allow extra time to remove chairs and stack blocks. Assign each preschooler a specific task; work with a child who is easily distracted. Play an Observation Game Supplies provided: A variety of colored pieces of construction paper, lunch sack/paper bag Pull a sheet of colored paper from a bag and suggest, If you re wearing this color, clap your hands. Choose another color and say: If you re wearing this color, touch your toes. Continue until everyone has had at least one opportunity to respond.. Greet parents and give each child a copy of the Bible & Me page to take home. Remind parents to read the Bible story to their child often during the week.

Say: Our Bible story today is about two men who traveled and told others about Jesus. Show the teaching picture. Say: Everywhere Paul and Barnabas went, they taught people about Jesus. Tell the story in your own words as you hold the open Bible. Make Life Application Tip: Have the teaching picture and the Bible Times Poster ready for this time. Show the teaching picture. Talk about the names of the men in the story. Ask children to tell what the men did. Display the Bible Times Map. Show some of the places Paul and Barnabas traveled to tell about Jesus. Ask: Can people today go to different places to tell others about Jesus? Say: People can go all over the world to tell about Jesus. Craft Time: Paul and Barnabas Travel Supplies provided: One die-cut sail boat, blue tissue paper, yarn, preprinted map and Bible Phrase strip. Preparation needed: Hole punch each boat and map in two places (at the top and the bottom). Give each child a boat, piece of yarn, tissue paper, preprinted cardstock map and crayons or markers. Ask: What cities did our story say Paul and Barnabas traveled by boat? (from Jerusalem to Antioch) Let s make our boats together and move them from Jerusalem to Antioch just like Paul traveled. First let s color or glue tissue paper to make the water blue. Model for them how to take the yarn and thread through the map and boat. Tie yarn at back. Show them how to move the boat up and down the page by gently pulling on the yarn. Learn a Bible Phrase Open the Bible to today s Bible marker and read the phrase. Lead children to whisper the phrase, then use an inside voice, and finally shout the phrase. Play a Sharing with Others Game Preschoolers stand in a circle. Whisper Jesus loves you into the ear of one child. Children whisper the same words around the circle. When the message gets back to you, say: We show love to others when we tell them about Jesus. Bible & Me Page Supplies provided: Bible & Me Page, crayons. Lead the children in completing the maze together. Say: The places in the maze are examples of places you can tell others about Jesus. Open your Bible and tell the children the story comes from Acts 11. Begin the story from ETC page 2, and lay the teaching picture in front of you. Say a Bible Phrase Open the Bible to Nehemiah 8:10. Place a slip of paper at that location as a marker. Toss a beanbag to a child and invite her to locate the marker. Say: These words tell us to give to others. Thank You for my family and friends who show love by giving to me, too. Play in Bible-Learning Activities Craft Center Church in Need Supplies provided: Die-cut church, tissue paper pieces or squares, one sheet of 9x12 construction paper and Bible phrase strip. Let the children glue pieces of tissue paper on the back side of church window. Have them turn the church over and glue to the sheet of construction paper. Glue the Bible phrase strip on the bottom of the page. Play a Counting Game Supplies provided: Index cards, paper bag. Preparation Needed: Print each number from 2 through 6 on an index card. Place the cards in a paper bag. Invite a child to choose a card and count out the correct number of blocks for her partner to stack. Then the partner can choose a card and count blocks for the first child to stack. Say something like: We read in the Bible, Give to others. You gave Marnie the right number of blocks, Ashley. To the tune of London Bridge, sing: Now it s time to clean the room, Clean the room, clean the room. Now it s time to clean the room. We are helpers. Lead the children to sing with you as you put away supplies together. Give each child a copy of today s Bible & Me page along with any pictures or cards he made to take home. Encourage his parents to talk about ways their family can give to others this week.

Say: Give money to the church offering; donate food items to a food pantry; give toys to other kids at Christmas; give clothes to children who need them. Craft Time Mission Bank Supplies provided: Foam adhesive faith stickers, one gift box and Bible Phrase. Remind the children that when the church heard about the need of another church that they gave generously. Talk about how they can give to help others. Let the children decorate the boxes with foam faith stickers. Glue the Bible phrase strip to the box. Move Together All Fall Down (Track 15) Encourage preschoolers to stand and move. Learn a Bible Phrase Display the Bible marker. Say the phrase several times. Tell children we can show others love by giving. Sing a Song Lead the children in a song My Church (Track 10). Hear the Bible Story Open your Bible to Acts 11 and lay the teaching picture in front of you. Ask preschoolers if they have ever been hungry. Say: Today we are going to hear about how the people of one church helped people of another church who needed food. Tell the Bible story in your own words. Make Life Application Show the teaching picture. Ask preschoolers to recall why the people of the church needed help and how the other church helped them. Bible & Me Page Supplies provided: Present Day Missionary Picture, Bible & Me page. Show the Missionary Pictures and talk about how some missionary show love by giving food to hungry people. Your voice is the most important tool in telling the Bible story. Vary your tone to introduce each character and to convey that the friends were working together happily. Show the teaching picture. Preparation Needed: Print each word of the Bible phrase Work together happily on a separate craft stick. Tuck the sticks into your Bible at the correct reference. As children take turns opening your Bible and choosing a stick, say: The words on these sticks are here in the Bible, too. Repeat the Bible phrase together. Then put the sticks in the correct order. Pray Thank you, God, for my family and friends. Thank You that we can show love to each other when we work together happily. Craft Center Door Hanger Supplies Provided: Die-cut door hanger, Bible phrase strip, Pieces of fabric, and die-cut tent. Let the children glue fabric on the die-cut tent. Glue the tent to the bottom of the door hanger. Glue the Bible phrase on the door hanger. Encourage the children to repeat the Bible phrase together. Build with Blocks. Talking about Paul and Apollos coming to the home of Priscilla and Aquila may lead the children to build a house or other building with blocks. As you notice preschoolers helping one another, comment: I m glad that we can work together happily to build this house. Work with the children to put away the supplies. Thank preschoolers as you see them complete a specific task. As you send home artwork along with today s Bible & Me page, remind parents to read today s Bible story to their child during the week.

Life Application: I will discover that working together is a way to Bible Phrase: Work together happily. Preschoolers work together to find the marker. When the marker is found, read the phrase to the group. Say the phrase together while smiling. Say: When we work together happily, we show love to others. Hear the Bible Story - Page 65 Supplies provided: Teaching picture Open the Bible to Acts 18 and lay it in your lap. Invite preschoolers to the circle to hear the Bible Story. Ask if any children have ever spent the night in a tent. Encourage children to listen for the word tents in the story and discover who worked together. Ask: Who in the Bible story worked together? In what ways did they do this? Show the teaching picture and talk about the picture. Pray, asking God to help us work together to tell others about Him and His love. 6:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. 3 s Thru Pre K Aquila and Priscilla Worked With Paul Craft Center Paul, Aquila and Priscilla Puppets Supplies provided: Preprinted cardstock sheet of Priscilla and Aquila, one jumbo craft stick per child, puppets of Paul, small pieces of fabric, and Bible phrase. Remind the children that Paul, Aquila and Priscilla worked together to make tents and to serve the Lord. Let the children glue the Paul puppet on the jumbo craft stick. Let them color the picture and glue fabric on the tent in the picture. Show them how to place the stick in the slit and move from one side where Paul helped make tents to the crowd where he was taught. Bible & Me Page Activity Supplies provided: Bible & Me page Review the Bible Story while looking at the picture on the front of the Bible & Me page. Talk about how Paul worked with Priscilla and Aquila. Play a Movement Game Pretend you are on a trip, with children choosing the mode of transport. Boys and girls may walk around the circle, hold their arms out and pretend to fly around the circle, pretend to steer a car, or pretend to row around the circle. Describe passing imaginary scenery as you move around. Mention that Aquila and Priscilla traveled with Paul. Listen to an action song (Track 15) Encourage the children to move to the song All Fall Down. Work with the children to put away the supplies. Thank preschoolers as you see them complete a specific task. Sing a song Together (Track 4) Assign each preschooler a word: work, together, or people. Lead children to stand as you start singing, and when they hear their word, tell them to sit down. Send home Bible & Me pages. When Emily s daddy comes, tell him how Emily and Madison worked together happily in the activities.

Item 34: Bible Phrase Picture Puzzle Move to Group Time Suggest that everyone wearing red hop to group time. Anyone wearing blue may walk sideways, and anyone wearing black or brown may walk backward to group time. Sing Together To the tune Row, Row, Row Your Boat. I can talk to God, any night or day. Anytime and anywhere, He hears me when I pray. Talk About the Bible Story Always use a Bible opened to the correct reference when telling the Bible story. In this way, preschoolers will learn that the Bible is full of stories about God. Show them that stories about Peter and Jesus other helpers are near the back of the Bible. Say the Bible Phrase Supplies provided: Two different colors of paper cut into strips. Preparation needed: Print the Bible phrase Pray for each other on the different-colored strips of paper. Cut each strip in half. Distribute the pieces, and guide the children to find the matching pairs. Repeat the Bible phrase aloud for each time a match is made. Pray Thank You, God, for my family and friends. Thank You that I can pray for them and they can pray for me. Craft Center Praying For Peter Supplies provided: Preprinted sheet of praying hands, tissue paper, Bible phrase strip and crayons. Review the story and talk about how praying for others is another way to Ask the children to look at the fingers on the hand and think of five friends that they could pray for. Have the children repeat the Bible phrase. Let the children color the hands. Show them how to glue the tissue paper on the stained glass. Now glue the Bible phrase on the bottom of the page. Give plenty of notice that it is almost time to clean the room so that children can finish their activities. Play a Game Say: I can pray for someone in this room whose name begins with an E. Who is it? Ask questions until each child has been named. Follow up with rhymes for names; rhymes can be silly: I can pray for someone in this room whose name rhymes with gladison. Who is it? Again, include every child in the room. Send today s Bible & Me pages home with parents, along with any Bible verse markers the children made. Lead the preschoolers to move to Group time. 6:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. 3 s Thru Pre K People Prayed for Peter Craft Center: Peter In jail. Supplies provided: A cardstock preprinted sheet of Peter, yarn, hole punch, tape, crayons and Bible Phrase strip. Preparation Needed: Prepunch the holes indicated on the top and bottom of the sheet and precut some yarn pieces. Say: The people showed love to Peter by praying for him when he was in jail. Let s make a picture of Peter. Let the children color the picture. Show them how to thread the yarn through the holes from the top to the bottom and let them tape the ends to the back of the picture. Bible Phrase Activity Take the letters p, r, a, and y and place on the floor. Show preschoolers how the letters will spell pray. Give out the other letters and help preschoolers spell love. Comment that praying for others shows love. Learn a Bible Phrase and Sing God Is So Good (Track 17) Give pieces of the Bible marker to preschoolers. They can put together the puzzle on the floor. Say the phrase together several times. Sing the song, substituting Pray for each other. Hear the Bible Story: Acts 12 Show the teaching picture and say: Our Bible story today is about Peter s friends praying for him when he was in need. Listen to find out why Peter needed prayer. Tell the story in your own words. Read Books Read the book One Friend, Two Friends. Read the book a second time, encouraging children to play out the story. If time remains, read the book How Do I Show Love? Talk about ways the preschoolers can show love to others. Send today s Bible & Me pages home with parents, along with any Bible verse markers the children made. As you say good-bye to a child, say: The Bible tells us to pray for each other. I will be praying for you this week. Life Application Say: We can pray for others, too. Encourage preschoolers to name people with needs. Make a list of names. Pray for the names listed and for the preschoolers. Allow preschoolers to pray, too.
