Please send all bulletin information to : saintjanef@gmail.com Phone Fax St Cyprian, bishop and martyr wrote about the Lord s Prayer in the year 250 AD Above all He who preaches peace and unity did not want us to pray by ourselves in private or for ourselves alone. We do not say, My Father who art in heaven, nor, Give me this day my daily bread. It is not for himself alone that each person asks to be forgiven, not to be lead not into temptation or to be delivered from evil. Rather, we pray in public as a community, and not for one individual but for all. For the people of God are all one. So we can see two things from this teaching. First, the Our Father is not some recent invention but comes form Jesus himself and is already a pillar of the Churches prayer 200 years after his death. Also we can see that some of the challenges we face today are not in fact new, but are the challenges the Church has faces for thousands of years. To be united in love as a community has challenges, but without unity, unless we are one as children of Our Father, it is impossible to be disciples of Jesus. Let us ask Our Father in these times of growth and change to help us to be one as believers. TOTUS TUUS (totally yours), a summer catechetical youth program, is being held at Saint Mary s Church July 15 July 20 Grades schoolers MondayFriday 9:00am2:30pm. The day includes catechetical instructions, daily mass, songs, games, and fun. The high school/junior high meet Sunday Thursday 7:00pm9:00pm. Totus tuus combines catechesis and having fun!! All are invited to a potluck dinner on Wednesday at 5:00pm. Cost is $15.00/ youth or $30 for families.
